OOPS: NASA’s Own Pandemic Data Blows Gaping Hole In Climate Orthodoxy

AOC's gonna need a wellness check after this one

Maybe we could pump the brakes on all this Green New Deal stuff while we digest these new numbers?

Under the aegis of ‘scientific consensus’, globalist billionaires and the activist armies they bankroll have been pushing us into a strange dystopia where we adopt all kinds of high-cost inferior technology because we carry a moral obligation to ‘save the planet’… or something.

Then along came the pandemic, where global commerce ground to a standstill. Those same activists cheered the sharp drop in all of the activities they have campaigned so strongly against for years. They shared photos of distant mountains now made visible in the suddenly clear sky. They claimed the world was healing. (This was while they also insisted we wear single-use petroleum-based masks and gloves that would be destined to eventually join that Pacific garbage patch they keep scolding us about.)

That sharp change in human behavior gave us a control group of data against which we could contrast our more typical global human activities.

But the pandemic year saw another change, too. A change that was supposed to reduce global warming… but that the data turned up a massively unintended consequence. It all came back to a well-intended change in the rules governing maritime shipping emissions.

Even the headline of a published study in the Journal of Nature is likely to cause headaches among Joe Biden and the Davos billionaire set.

What, we ARE supposed to ‘trust the science’, aren’t we?

It gets better.

[…]In 2020, fuel regulations abruptly reduced the emission of sulfur dioxide from international shipping by about 80% and created an inadvertent geoengineering termination shock with global impact. Here we estimate the regulation leads to a radiative forcing of
Wm−2 averaged over the global ocean. The amount of radiative forcing could lead to a doubling (or more) of the warming rate in the 2020 s compared with the rate since 1980 with strong spatiotemporal heterogeneity. The warming effect is consistent with the recent observed strong warming in 2023 and expected to make the 2020 s anomalously warm. The forcing is equivalent in magnitude to 80% of the measured increase in planetary heat uptake since 2020. […] — Nature

Activists will have to work overtime to spin this one, as the Daily Sceptic explains:

The news is likely to cause considerable concern among the mainstream climate hoaxers in media, academia and politics. They have had a field day of late by pointing to rises in temperature as evidence for their evidence-free prediction that the climate is in danger of imminent collapse. But the NASA scientists, working out of the Goddard Space Flight Centre, predict a trend of rising temperatures due to the IMO2020 regulations going forward, and state, “the 2023 record warmth is within the ranges of our expected trajectory”.

The science behind the NASA findings, which have been published in Nature, is simple. Fewer fuel particles injected into the atmosphere reduce cloud droplet density and this leads to clouds that reflect less solar radiation back into space. As the scientists note: “IMO2020 effectively represents a termination shock for the inadvertent geoengineering experiment through a reverse marine cloud dimming through reducing cloud droplet number concentration.” In the course of their work, the team calculated large particle reductions in major shipping routes in the North Atlantic, the Caribbean Sea and the South China Sea.

The NASA paper is likely to be fiercely contested, not least because it blows holes in all the attribution pseudoscience attempting to blame recent temperature rises and individual weather events on human-induced increases in carbon dioxide.[…] —DailySceptic
