LMAO: Swalwell Tries To ‘Own’ Ben Shapiro In Congressional Hearing On Censorship… Fails Badly

It’s hard to imagine anything more ‘on brand’ with the Democrats these days than suppressing dissent.

In light of the dissenting opinion in the recent SCOTUS ruling that denied a case of government abuse of the 1st Amendment solely on the basis of standing, rather than the merits of the case, the GOP brought in some expert opinion on how to best remedy the government over-reach and denial of First Amendment protections by using a ‘clever’ work-around by cooperating with Big Tech and having THEM be the enforcement mechanism of silencing things they don’t like in the name of misinformation and disinformation.

Here’s an interaction between Swalwell and Shapiro that was especially entertaining. It led by Swalwell trying to bait him with a question about the left’s very favorite Shibboleth right now… something called ‘Project 2025’.

Project 2025 is so VERY central to the Republican brand that we haven’t yet wasted a single column of digital ink on this topic. This is probably the first mention of it we’ve made so far.

But Shapiro didn’t JUST go there to clown on Swalwell. He had some serious things to say, as well. Here is his opening 5 minute statement:

There’s a reason why using the excuse of ‘misinformation and disinformation’ is so damned important to these people. It’s the excuse they leverage to silent dissent, and giving the decision making mechanism an apparent patina of ‘3rd-party’ independence that has no connection to real life.
