HERO STUFF: Reporter Interrupts His Job Reporting To Save A Woman From Drowning
He didn't wait for rescue to arrive -- he took action himself
It’s literally a reporter’s job to report the story without becoming the story. But in this instance, all will be forgiven for making himself part of the story.
A Fox News team was doing what news crews always do when there’s a major storm like this one — they were getting footage out in the areas hardest hit. One of those areas they responded to put them in the path of a woman who was in some very real danger.
In a culture where far too many people will FILM some kind of a horrible event without taking action, this reporter saw someone in trouble and took action to save her.
First, he called 911 to come rescue her. But with the urgency rising and help delayed, the reporter took action. He cut the feed and waded out into the street.

The water was rising. He could hear her screaming.
And he couldn’t it go.
