SPACEX: Petty Potentates Play Politics While Elon’s Rockets Make History

He's no longer a 'big lib' ... and that is a crime that MUST be punished

No sooner had Elon’s company rescued 2 American astronauts from a NASA/Boeing mission gone wrong than he’s achieving the impossible with his reusable rockets.

Right between those two moments (and around the time his Starlink tech was saving the day in Hurricane-hit parts of the country) was the announcement of a lawsuit against a petulant government agency that is explicitly punishing him for having the wrong political opinion.

For anyone wondering — that’s still illegal. Even in California. Something about a Constitution protecting the rights of the citizen or whatever.

First, let’s celebrate the accomplishment:

Elon’s SpaceX has just done something so outrageous that it shouldn’t even be possible. And yet, for the first time in human history — it’s been done.

In an effort to shed precious weight off of the rocket booster that was designed to be reused, Elon’s team designed the landing gear in a fixed structure on land and had the rocket return to it.

It’s an absolutely bonkers re-thinking of space flight. And it worked.

The super-heavy booster is 232 feet tall. Roughly a sixteen-story building.
It was landed between to horizontal arms of a tower gently enough that the tower could safely catch it.

It worked on the first try.

How is California rewarding the most prolific innovator in America today?

They’ve looked at his political views and decided to limit the rate of his rocket testing for having the ‘wrong’ views.

The LA Times headline pretty much tells the whole story: California officials reject more SpaceX rocket launches, with some citing Musk’s X posts

Right.

Speaking of government… What’s NASA been up to these days, besides stranding astronauts in space?

Are they advancing rocket design?
Workshopping a replacement for the aging ISS?
Looking into an in-house solution for delivering payloads to orbit?

They are — *checks notes* — testing how racist the air is… for some reason.

For the bargain basement price of a half-million dollars.

Is it any WONDER we were hitching rides with the Russians before Elon came around?
