GRATITUDE: God Is Protecting Our Leaders Despite Ongoing Violent Threats

A 'smooth transition' of power does NOT include death threats

The left bragged about a ‘smooth transition of power’ if Trump won… so far, that transition has been anything but.

There have been so many threats of violence against the lives and families of Trump appointees, that the transition team has been forced to make a public statement about it.

They have included Tom Homan (whose photo of him serving Thanksgiving dinner to Border Agents was used for this story) …

Washington Times lists some who are known to have been threatened…

The FBI said Wednesday that it was investigating bomb threats and “swatting” incidents against several of President-elect Donald Trump’s nominees.

Agriculture Secretary-designate Brooke Rollins, U.S. Ambassador-designate Elise Stefanik, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator-designate Lee Zeldin, Labor Secretary-designate Lori Chavez-DeRemer and Housing and Urban Development Secretary-designate Scott Turner said they were targets. — WT

This is one more data point in a long list of examples that pits the official FBI talking points about dangerous right-wing radicals lurking as domestic terror threats against several plots against Trump’s life, the assassination attempt at baseball practice, waves of violence targeting pro-life institutions and clinics, anti-Israel mobs, black-masked protesters rioting across major cities and clashing with police in support of leftwing causes du jour… and so on.

So how does THIS news tie into being grateful? By linking it to a letter from George Washington to his brother.

George Washington wrote to his brother to correct news of his untimely death. Not only was America’s future First President NOT dead, but he had been spared from death in a most remarkable way.

In his own accounting of the events, there was no way to chalk up his survival in that battle to mere chance or skill. Four bullets had pierced his coat, and two horses were shot out from under him.

He did not shrink from duty or living with courage, but, in behaving boldly, trusted his soul to the Providence of Almighty God.

We have seen, in Trump’s brush with death, especially in that graphic showing the subltle difference that head tilt made between living and dying that day, a similar belief that God has granted both Trump and America a window of opportunity that we would be wise not to squander.

We who are Christians have been called to pray for those who lead us… both for their benefit and for those under their charge. Like Joseph, we exercise all good wisdom in preparing for dangers and difficulties that may come. But in the end, we do not live in fear. We trust to Him ‘in whom we live and move and have our being’.
