We’ve got the moment DeSantis announced his pick for the successor to Marco Rubio’s senate seat… that pick’s first statements… and some fantastic policy priorities in that pick.
Today, Ron DeSantis has declared that Marco Rubio’s empty senate seat will be filled by Florida AG Ashley Moody.
So much for those all those confident assertions by the NeverTrump set that DeSantis would hire some underqualified Trump flunkie to fill those shoes.
What do we know about her? She’s been AG since 2019 — the successor to one Pam Bondi, in fact. She has been taking the fight to the Biden administration in challenging some of his unconstitutional actions, she has opposed DEI, and supports the idea of defunding the UN. She was also involved in giving the boot to a Soros DA.
Just one day before this announcement, she was leading the charge in a human trafficking press conference. The next day, she’s Marco Rubio’s named successor.
