HEY GOP: Today’s The Day To Prove You’re Serious About Making Adult Decisions

Are we going to get it right this time?

Washington has a reputation for pitting the stupid party against the evil party. Have we learned our lessons, or will we see more of the same.

Today is the day that the 119th Congress is set to begin, and the very first order of business is deciding who is in charge. How we handle this decision will go a long way to showing whether Congress is serious about governing this time, or if we’re more interested in tilting at windmills.

At issue is the question of whether Mike Johnson — will retain his role of Speaker going into the next session.

Trump has indicated that he has confidence in Mike’s leadership. So have most of the GOP. But we have the narrowest of margins in this session and it only take a couple of disaffected Republicans to scuttle his leadership and throw the process into the same chaos we saw when Matt Gaetz stuck a shiv in the leadership of Kevin McCarthy.

The wing of the party pushing for that change got some concessions, but paid a heavy price. America watched two weeks of infighting as the GOP fought in public about who should take McCarthy’s place. When the dust had settled, none of the people suggested by the group agitating for change got their pick. The only guy who could satisfy everyone was someone who never asked to be leader in the first place.

In the interim was two weeks of wasted time. Committees ground to a halt. Policy ground to a halt. And the Dems, with their media enablers, never missed any opportunities to make our side look like bumbling clowns… just like they did to us when we couldn’t get on the same page in Trump’s first term.

Making matters worse, when the dust settled, Kevin and some others got out of Dodge before their terms were complete, making everything more difficult in the legislative side… a problem we STILL haven’t overcome.

Today going right is mission-critical, no matter HOW convinced some of the purists in the party might be on issues like budget issues or the spending cap. Monday is the date on the calendar that the Framers circled in red for the confirmation of the vote for President. If we don’t have the leadership question squared away before then, nothing else moves… including that.

We have already seen Raskin and others looking for every possible wrench they can throw at Trump’s inauguration to block him from becoming President, or at least tie him up in so much red tape he can’t accomplish any of the policy promises that got him elected in the first place.

If we don’t have our leadership question sorted out before January 6th, that will be one more wrench they can throw at Trump in their attempts to subvert the process… and we our side will be forced to burn political capital playing defense, instead of hitting the ground running and unwinding the mess that Joe left behind.

Whatever we might think of what might have happened since Mike was sworn in, let’s learn from our mistakes last time. If we play these stupid games again, we could wind up losing our narrow majority altogether, and handing the gavel to Jeffries who would be CERTAIN to make the second term as miserable for Trump as he possibly can.

Let’s learn our lessons from 2022 and Trump’s first term in office and not give him that opportunity.

I Talk Back to the Devil is an action manual that sports thirty pure fire proclamations against the powers of darkness in three different categories covering, the wealth, the walk and the warfare of the Christian against Satan and his defeated ilk.

This NEW book will put a serrated edge on the Christian’s prayer life in these troubled times. This slim tome will embolden the believer to stop taking Satan’s crap.
