Turns out that sanctuary city play has some unexpected consequences
Knowing Tom Homan has made it clear his first priority in enforcing immigration law will be in throwing out the criminals, she asks some follow-up questions whose answer she did NOT like at all.
In a perfect scenario, ICE could come along, collect the criminal from the county lockup, take him to an ICE detention center until his travel docs can be arranged, and then… he’s gone.
Bing. Bang. Boom.
No muss, no fuss, nobody gets hurt.
Sanctuary cities complicate that in ways that make everyone involved less safe. But they do something else, too. They bring ICE into contact with other people.

Dana was concerned that ICE might start arresting people who are NOT the primary target of an ICE raid, and asked what happens to the other people.
She did NOT like the answer she was given.
And Tom didn’t apologize for the policy or shrink back even a little.
