Hey Hamas: Trump Just Gave You An Ultimatum… Ball’s In Your Court

Return the hostages, or roll those dice with whatever comes next

The world looked on as Hamas handed over 3 emaciated hostages, with no assurances that the others are even still alive. If this doesn’t resolve by week’s end, Trump’s promising All Hell is going to break out.

Stories about how the captives were raped, tortured, or even held captive by supposed civilians and neutral parties are well-attested.

Under Biden, and in the first days of the Trump presidency, in which a ceasefire had been negotiated, Israel’s ability to respond has faced limitations, in particular, with the Biden administration using bottlenecks in the delivery of Israeli ammunition stores to strongarm Israel into accepting demands made by the former administration.

It’s as though they were more committed to protecting the interests of Gazans than they were to securing the freedom of American’s illegally held there by Terrorists.

As with so many other things that changed when Biden walked out of the White House for the final time, with a new administration come new expectations.

The guy who took Joe’s place is NOT in the habit of placating terrorists… and his patience in waiting for the timeline to bring American citizens home is wearing thin. Not only would Israel have the full support of America on continuing the war with Hamas, under Trump, there would be no slow-walking of their purchase of arms from American suppliers.

Meanwhile, the original deal seems to be fraying on the other side of the world…

Hamas has said it is delaying the release of Israeli hostages indefinitely over “violations” of the ceasefire deal, prompting Israel’s defence minister to put the country’s military on alert with orders to prepare for “any scenario in Gaza”.

Mediators fear a breakdown of the three-week-old ceasefire, Egyptian security sources told Reuters, and have postponed talks until they receive a clear indication of Washington’s intent to continue with the phased deal.

Israel’s security cabinet has moved forward a meeting to discuss negotiations on the second phase, which had been set for Tuesday evening. The army has cancelled all leave for soldiers in the Gaza division, the Kan news outlet reported, in another sign that Israeli authorities are preparing for the resumption of war. — Guardian
