Has Jon forgotten he's a show on COMEDY Central?
Jon Stewart is taking himself SUPER-seriously right now… or at least, he wants YOU to take him super-seriously.
Kind of a weird take for someone whose show was once promoted as ‘The Most Trusted Name In Fake News’.
Fast forward a few years and he’s just another angry blowhard who has somehow forgotten that it’s a comic’s job to make the audience LAUGH. Now he’s marching lockstep with the Jimmy Kimmel type who think it’s their job to whip audiences up into a frothy partisan rage.
Here he is (source) smashing a mug to show how much he cares about a drug policy. (That ended badly.) Only to keep on going and turning that rage into a rant against DOGE.

Surely he means every word of his raging against DOGE. He couldn’t possibly be stoking rage for ratings to cash in on the left’s TDS.
He’s absolutely consistent with EARLIER versions of Jon Stewart like THIS one where he had some pointed questions about Government waste…
One would think that John Stewart would be championing DOGE after this exchange.

Oh wait. In that one he’s making the exact arguments that would justify having a group like DOGE go in and start looking under ever rock to see what’s REALLY going on with what Jon himself called ‘waste’.
What could POSSIBLY have changed…?
