UKRAINE TWO-FER: Trump Dunks On Pocahontas While Dropping BOMBSHELL News About Zelensky
Could peace in Ukraine really be closer than we thought?
All those Trump-knows-nothing gloom-and-doom types have some information about the Ukraine situation they will need to process. They blinked and the game has changed. Maybe forever.
Remember Trump’s campaign promise to bring q swift end to the conflict in Ukraine?
After the Oval Office dust-up with Zelensky last week and the attempt of other Western leaders to rally around him and distance themselves from America over the weekend, we were told that Trump has blown his one and only chance to be the adult in the room bringing a lasting peace to the region.
The world was passing America by, we were told, and European leaders would rise up to take America’s place.
As the saying goes, ‘big if true’. With a heavy emphasis on ‘if’.
Well, as Trump walked us through the foreign policy wins and plans for what’s next, he took us through a quick update on what’s been going on in Ukraine. When he pivoted from the Middle East to the hundreds of billions in Ukraine funding that came ‘with no security with no anything’ the Democrats stood up to give the one-and-only applause response to anything Trump said that night.
Congressional Dems hadn’t the slightest idea of what trap Trump had just baited them into springing on themselves… Liz Warren, most of all.
Trump responded to that applause and called out Democrats and specifically Elizabeth Warren — using her old nickname, ‘Pocahontas’ which has now been immortalized in the Congressional Record. “Do you want to keep it going for another five years? Pocahontas says yes.” Here she is clapping enthusiastically with a smug grin on her face in reply:
And then, as Paul Harvey would say, came the REST of the story.
After calling attention the absolute waste of life, (some 2000 or more people dying every week), chiding Europe for not pulling their weight in the defense of Ukraine, and worse, funding the Russian war machine by purchasing so much Russian energy that it far exceeded any aid they gave to Ukraine, Trump broke some news right there in the middle of the meeting.
That morning, Zelensky gave him a letter that changes the situation completely.
“The letter reads that Zelensky is willing to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer. Nobody wants lasting peace more than Ukranians, he said. My team and I stand ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership to get a peace that lasts. We do really value how much America has done to help Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and independence regarding the agreement on minerals and security. Regarding the agreement on minerals and security, Ukraine is ready to sign it at any time that is convenient to you.”
“I appreciate that he sent this letter, I just got it a little while ago. Simultaneously, we’ve had serious discussions with Russia and have received strong signals that they are ready for peace. Wouldn’t that be beautiful?”
Democrats were so eager to use Ukraine as the foil with which to paint Trump as a Russian stooge, they never asked themselves if there was a bigger-picture consideration, about saving the lives of Ukrainians and Russians alike, and bringing this needless slaughter to a conclusion while we look for a post-conflict path forward that both sides can tolerably live with.
