THE ECONOMY: Bessent Catches The Media In Yet ANOTHER Anti-Trump Falsehood

When the press gives us a lie by omission, is it misinformation or disinformation?

Here’s their dirty little secret: in telling us only half of the story, they are telling us an entire lie… and they’re getting away with it. (Until now.)

There are two ways the media lied to the public in manipulating the voting public back in 2020. They hid bad news about Biden (including the laptop, his mental decline, stories about his corruption, and so on), and they hid good news about Trump — economic successes, the Abraham accords, even environmental improvement under Trump.

You could say the same thing in reverse, magnifying Trump’s flaws and minimizing Biden’s but it amounts to the same thing — a finger on the scales, deliberately tricking the public into doing what the press WANTS them to do rather than what an informed public will do without someone rigging the game.

If you’re going to tell the negative side of the story to ‘get’ Trump… an honest media (if such exists) must tell the *OTHER* side of the story so they have an accurate understanding of the world in which they live. Here is Scott Bessent correcting the record on ABC.

As he points out, if the press gleefully pointed out 10 days previous that we’re seeing the worst April performance in the stock market since the Great Depression… and we’re now seeing a NASDAC in the green… doesn’t that make it the biggest bounce-back ever, too?

Of course, not all mainstream media WANTS to play the role of honest broker. Some will only tell the detrimental side of the story, leaving a gaping hole in the public record in which partisans from the other side can have an entire job of correcting and counterbalanceing the propagandistic mess the ‘legacy press’ leaves in their wake.

Which is the entire reason the Breitbarts and the ClashDailies of the world have a role to play in the news cycle.
