Trump Signs Order To Put American Shipbuilding Back On Track (Video)
That's not the only thing that crossed his desk yesterday

Trump has continued to be busy in his hands-on approach of giving clear direction to his subordinates in the Executive branch.
Yesterday, for example, he had a series of directives covering a range of issues:
- Addressing Risks Associated with an Egregious Leaker and Disseminator of Falsehoods
Presidential Actions, Presidential Memoranda April 9, 2025 - Addressing Risks from Chris Krebs and Government Censorship
Presidential Actions, Presidential Memoranda April 9, 2025 - Addressing Risks from Susman Godfrey
Presidential Actions, Executive Orders April 9, 2025 - Modernizing Defense Acquisitions and Spurring Innovation in the Defense Industrial Base
Presidential Actions, Executive Orders April 9, 2025 - Restoring America’s Maritime Dominance
Presidential Actions, Executive Orders April 9, 2025 - Directing the Repeal of Unlawful Regulations
Presidential Actions, Presidential Memoranda April 9, 2025 - Reducing Anti-Competitive Regulatory Barriers
Presidential Actions, Executive Orders April 9, 2025 - Zero-Based Regulatory Budgeting to Unleash American Energy
Presidential Actions, Executive Orders April 9, 2025 - Reforming Foreign Defense Sales to Improve Speed and Accountability

The first few are directing review of persons or entities whose security clearances he would like to see revoked after certain abuses of their powers while in office. The ‘anonymous’ author, for instance, or an official that used his powers to violate the First Amendment of US citizens.
Three of them are directly related to military procurement, for us or our allies. This includes the shipbuilding order Trump talks about here:

Gee, maybe there’s a sensible reason the working class has been shifting to back Trump. Notice who posted THIS comment:
The other orders? Ah, nothing much.
Just the repeal of unlawful regulations that SCOTUS slapped down in recent decisions, and the unleashing of US Energy.
Here’s the preamble describing his Maritime Dominance order:
Section 1. Purpose. The commercial shipbuilding capacity and maritime workforce of the United States has been weakened by decades of Government neglect, leading to the decline of a once strong industrial base while simultaneously empowering our adversaries and eroding United States national security. Both our allies and our strategic competitors produce ships for a fraction of the cost needed in the United States. Recent data shows that the United States constructs less than one percent of commercial ships globally, while the People’s Republic of China (PRC) is responsible for producing approximately half.
Rectifying these issues requires a comprehensive approach that includes securing consistent, predictable, and durable Federal funding, making United States-flagged and built vessels commercially competitive in international commerce, rebuilding America’s maritime manufacturing capabilities (the Maritime Industrial Base), and expanding and strengthening the recruitment, training, and retention of the relevant workforce.
Sec. 2. Policy. It is the policy of the United States to revitalize and rebuild domestic maritime industries and workforce to promote national security and economic prosperity.
The Drill-baby-Drill policy in the “ZERO-BASED REGULATORY BUDGETING TO UNLEASH AMERICAN ENERGY” is worth looking at, too.
With Biden adding more pages to the federal regulations register than any administration in US history, Trump made a deft little move to keep such restrictions from being an anchor around our neck forever. He is introducing a sunset clause, so that any regulations WORTH keeping will be found and carried forward. Anything useless or out of date will self-delete and be purged from the onorous rulebook.
