Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson Passed Away… Let’s Remember A Moment Of His Fearless Courage

His natural life is concluded... but he lives on, both here and in the hereafter

As many of us know all too well, Alzheimers is a long and difficult way to meet your Maker. But for those with the faith Phil Robertson embraced, that ‘end’ is really just the beginning.

Korie Robertson broke the news of his passing to the world through her social media account:

“We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord,” Korie Robertson’s post read.

“He reminded us often of the words of Paul, ‘you do not grieve like those who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him,” the post continued.

Korie Robertson added that the family will have a private service but will share details “about a public celebration of his life.”

“Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life saved by grace, his bold faith, and by his desire to tell everyone who would listen the Good News of Jesus,” she added. “We are grateful for his life on earth and will continue the legacy of love for God and love for others until we see him again.” —FoxNews

How fitting, then, that Memorial Day, the day in which we remember those who lay down their lives for their country, that we get a reminder, in Phil’s passing, that there is a way of facing death that leads not to despair, but to hope in One who has faced Death in his own person, and stripped it of its power by rising from the grave, never to die again.

Courage in the face of death is not the only place he spoke boldly about what he believed.

With his passing, it was only natural for people to share memorable moments from his life, including clips of his speaking. Here’s one where he’s showing more boldness about Christian truth than a lot of so-called preachers.

Unflinching.

Would that other Christians look to his courage in the face of his mortality — and in the face of public scorn — and make as bold a stand as he did.
