Canada Goes Full Authoritarian When Christian Singer Leads Public Worship

Remember in the COVID years when churches were shut down over a fearful case of the sniffles? Sean Feucht chose obedience to God over obedience to the state. Canada is reluctant to give up their censorious power even now.

The pushback began in one city, but it’s spreading.

It really shouldn’t surprise anyone that the country whose PM suspended their version of the Bill of Rights before trampling civilians with horses, or suspending bank accounts — uniltaerally, and not by a parliamentarian vote — when peaceful protesters started to get on their nerves, still has a hate on for open displays of Christianity that refuse to bow the knee to an authoritarian culture.

But they still have a hate on, and they’re still willing to act on it.

Here’s the story. Sean Feucht — who was involved in public worship in all sorts of places that safe and respectable people might not go — including California beaches in the lockdown era, Washington DC around the time of 2020’s election, Antifa strongholds in the Left coast, and most recently, Montreal in Canada.

He came as a guest of a local church, with the intention of leading a praise and worship service… which Christians will understand as distinct and different from a concert. The city decided to label it a ‘concert’, and pulled the permiting. Something that it appears they would not have been able to do for a religious service.

They went ahead with the event anyway.

Real dangerous and subersive stuff. He was denounced, predictably, as ‘MAGA’.

The left had their brownshirts show up in force, with Antifa breaking through police lines to chuck a smoke bomb at Feucht. Under Canadian law, disrupting a religious meeting is a criminal offense, and not a misdemeanor.

Things went better in Toronto, where the event was held in an indoor venue. It was staffed by police.

Sean was booked for events in several Canadian cities, and there has been pressure for them all to cancel. Even the government-run propaganda media — Canadian Broadcasting Corporation or CBC — wound up reporting relevant facts of the case.

It really IS all about the censorship.

For anyone who thinks he shouldn’t go to places where he and his message are unwelcome, take a look at the results — crowds are gathering to glorify God, and opposition is rising up against him in anger. Now look at the book of Acts. Everywhere Paul went, he was followed by riots and revivals.

Ask yourself — if the local churches where you are were getting the results (friendly AND angry) that Sean is kicking up, would someone like him need to visit your town at all?

Is there something bold and brave that you and your church have been called to do?

If so, would you trust Him enough to step out in obedience?
