Famous Pastor Closes Out A Long And Influential Life At 86

After almost six decades of faithful service... he now enters his rest

As the Apostle Paul once said, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

As pastor of the same church for five and one-half DECADES, one could hardly disagree.

In a generation where it was so easy to capitulate to culture, Pastor John MacArthur took a bold stand again and again and again. And now he has joined the cloud of witnesses and passes the baton to whosever will carry it forward from here.

The particulars of his passing, and the hospitalization due to pneumonia are, by the time this story goes live, well reported.

John MacArthur, pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, died Monday at the age of 86 after a battle with pneumonia.

“Our hearts are heavy, yet rejoicing, as we share the news that our beloved pastor and teacher John MacArthur has entered into the presence of the Savior,” read a Monday-night post on the X account of “Grace to You” which is MacArthur’s media ministry. “This evening, his faith became sight. He faithfully endured until his race was run.”

The announcement comes after associate pastor Tom Patton told congregants at a July 13 Sunday service that MacArthur had been hospitalized with the illness, according to The Roys Report. — FoxNews

He was one of the better-known voices among a segment of Christianity that held the line on traditional biblical values. A well-loved study bible bears his name, and headed up a local church, a seminary, and a gospel ministry.

He may be best remembered by Clash Daily readers for his refusal to bow the knee to Herr Gavin Newsom during the Covid lockdowns, taking a stand for religious freedom, and winning his day in court… to the tune of an $800k settlement.

He was no shrinking violet. But the beating heart of his ministry was the gospel of Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection that allows us to be redeemed and restored to right relationship with the triune God of scripture.

If he would be remembered for anything, it would be that he is an ambassador for Christ, and that even now, as he has passed on to his reward, that invitation to be reconciled to God through Christ Jesus is extended to you, dear reader.

Yes, you.

‘Grace to you’ is the name of his ministry.
And it’s the message with with we conclude our brief memorial to a life’s work far greater than could possibly be properly addressed with a short tribute like ours.
