Jon Stewart Goes Nuclear Over Colbert Cancellation… Proving Their Point Exactly

Has Jon forgotten that he's supposed to be a comic?

When we heard Colbert’s show was getting the ax at the end of this season, most of us took a moment to laugh at his expense, and carried on with our lives. The left, meanwhile are losing their minds.

He’s really not that big of a deal. We’re a little surprised they gave such an unfunny hack enough leash to run to the end of the year, when they could fill that same slot with, say, an infomercial that can bring in some revenue, instead of bleeding tens of millions in red ink.

Colbert was supposed to be a comedian. Instead, he’s been an unoriginal, scolding, political flunkie that only departs from the party line long enough to double down on it. He brings in an endless parade of elected politicians — from a single party — so they can talk politics and dunk on GOP and the rubes of flyover country.

The jokes have become boilerplate and predictable, seasoned more by snark and venom than humor and mirth.

The whole Krusty the Clown cynicism wasn’t funny in Springfield, and it doesn’t work out that well in real life either. The plug got pulled. But the left is so wrapped up in their conspiracy theories and their fantasy of ‘fascism’ that they are foaming at the mouth looking for ways to blame people being bored with Colbert… on Trump.

One theory has Trump personally calling a kill shot on Colbert’s show using the forces of government somehow, and the other telling of the story involves a ‘gutless’ company trying to suck up to the Trump admin for a merger while still stinging from a defamation suit.

Jon Stewart was, I am assured, funny once. Even if that seems like such a long time ago. He puts on his performative outrage as easily as he changes between camera angles.

Here he is offering us his most profound reflections on the cancellation of Colbert’s show by using no less than a gospel choir to repeat profanities over and over in a pointless loop.

Does anyone else remember when Jon used to laugh when people mistook him as a serious news source, reminding them his show on the freaking Comedy Network?
The clue is in the name, folks!

It’s sad that Jon has nobody left in his life who can, or will, remind him of the same fact.

You’re a wise-ass with a microphone.
Then the TV goes off, and nothing you said matters.

You parlayed that skill into a good living. Don’t take it for granted.

Colbert’s already shown us what happens when a self-righteous scold tries to pass himself off as a comic. You don’t HAVE to follow him into oblivion.

But, with today’s political insanity? Warnings like this one will be promptly ignored until too late.
