LINN: What Do You REALLY Know About Omar Fateh?

Nearly a month ago Zohran Mamdani became the Democratic candidate in the mayoral election in New York City. He has advocated socialism (including the abolition of private property and taxing the wealthy) as well as being anti-Israeli (and hence an Anti-Semite). His leftist views have won him the backing of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders.
Meanwhile, in Minneapolis, another Muslim is hoping to be mayor of that city. Somali-born Minnesota State Senator Omar Fateh has thrown his hat into the ring in the mayoral election, and he has been endorsed by the Democratic Farmer-Labor Party, which is a branch of Minnesota’s Democratic Party.
The following list provides similarities between Fateh and Mamdani:
- Both of them are Muslim (as mentioned earlier), which would lead to one questioning their views on the concept of jihad, not to mention sharia law.It should be noted that should Mamdani is elected as mayor, he will prevent the NYPD from investigating domestic disputes- which would result in Muslim men beating their wives without fear of being arrested. In addition, honor crimes (e.g. honor killings, forced marriages) would also be the result (if they aren’t already occurring in New York City).
- Both of them are also socialists. Fateh wants to raise the minimum wage (up to $20 by 2028), provide more affordable housing, and combat “police violence”. Mamdani wants to provide free city buses, a rent freeze in rent-stabilized housing, universal child care, the construction of 200,000 housing units, public safety reform (i.e. defund the police), increase the minimum wage to $30 by 2030, establish five city-owned grocery stores in order to drive down the price of groceries, and increase taxes for corporations and anyone earning more than $1 million annually.
- Both of them are currently serving in their respective state legislatures, with Fateh serving in the Minnesota State Senate and Mamdani serving in the New York State Assembly.
- Both of them are members of Generation Y (a.k.a. millennials). Fateh is 35, and Mamdani is 33. Their ages will appeal to younger voters, particularly those who are leftists.
- Both of them are anti-Israeli. Mamdani wants to globalize the intifada, not to mention vowed to have Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrested if he visits New York City, thus abiding by the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court. Meanwhile, Fateh has taken an anti-Israeli stance when he posted a letter accusing the IDF of committing crimes in Gaza in the aftermath of the October 7, 2023 terrorist attacks by Hamas.
Needless to say, Mamdani will be bad for New York City, and Fateh will be bad for Minneapolis.
Hopefully, both of them will be defeated in their respectful mayoral elections.
