When ‘Spartacus’ & Co. Run Melodramatic Stunts… Remind Them Of Their History

If you still needed proof that they are unserious clowns... here you go.

They whined and moaned while making a scene: staging a dramatic walkout when Trump’s judicial nominee advanced. They’re hoping you don’t ask about ‘precedents’.

Senator Corey Booker is one of the most shameless grandstander in all of Congress right now, and he’s leveraging his opportunities to make a name for himself.

At this moment in history, there are a few tried-and-true paths to advance in the ranks of the Democrat party.

You can have serious social media clout. That’s how AOC massed her following. You can have wealthy or influential pollitcal backers who can elevate you while running interference against your rivals. Both Joe and Kamala each had that advantage in their recent runs… until they didn’t. You can leverage your status in the Victimhood Olypics, either because you belong to whichever group whose victimhood is currently celebrated as ‘victim’ by the political left, or have a victimhood story you can leverage for politcal advantage (see: David Hogg). That’s a risky approach. Victimhood stories that are favored in one moment may be cast aside when the political winds shift.

With Trump in the White House, and political gravity on the left shifting wildly with no clear leader in charge, some are choosing the Pelosi/Schiff path: make your mark as Leaders of the Never-Trump Resistance.

Cory ‘Spartacus’ Booker, and a few others (like Jasmine Crockett) have pushed in all their chips, hoping to make bank on that last bet. They are being as loud, and as obnoxious, and as bat-guano crazy in their objections to Trump as they can possible be.

The reason is simple: the only thing worse than being a ridiculous clown in today’s attention economy… is being forgotten entirely. And Cory is unleashing his inner drama queen to be sure that even if he’s to be remembered as an unserious clown, he WILL be remembered.

In the Senate Judiciary, he made an impassioned speech claiming to be the defender of ‘decency’ — defending it from Republicans, of course — in blocking Dems’ Hail Mary attempt to keep Trump’s judicial nominee from going to a vote to advance to the full Senate.

After his self-indulgent speech where he spoke as if deeply wounded, everyone walked out.

It was exactly the kind of tawdry and ultimately meaningless stunt an attention whore who values symbolism over substance would relish.

It was not unlike the equally meaningless record he just set while filibustering the One Big Beautiful Bill. The Bill that was still passed into law and not changed even one iota as result of his showboating.

There’s just one problem with his ‘wounded dignity’. He said absolutely nothing in objection when his own party did exactly the same thing in steamrolling GOP objections to unqualified nominees when THEY held the balance of power in the same role.

The GOP hasn’t forgotten the raw exercise of power the left was willing to use to advance their agenda. They didn’t SET the precedent, but they’re sure as Hell going to make it clear to Dems that any precedent they set will be one that is applied equally to them when they are on the outside looking in.

And you can be DAMNED sure the GOP was taking notes when Schumer decided to protect Mayorkas and pretend that the Senate can just ignore an impeachment.

You set a precedent THERE, too.Β  It’s really not the smartest move a Dem caucus, whose favorite obstructionist move is impeachment, could make. And we’re pretty sure the day will come when you regret that, too.
