‘I’m An AG!’ Rhode Island Cops Remind Rowdy Chick That No One Is Above The Law

They could have walked away, they chose a ride in a police car instead

Telling a cop he will ‘regret this’ seldom ends well for whoever is shouting the ultimatums.

What began as a night out ended up with the most preventable ‘do you know who I am’ moment gone viral we have seen in a VERY long time.

It began simply enough. Cops were called to a disturbance at Clarke Cooke House when two ladies who had already settled their bill had refused to leave. If they had accepted that the night was over and it was time to go — either when the staff asked them to go, or later when the cops did, we would not be talking about them.

But that would have been too easy. They tried to pull rank on the cops who were escorting them out, with the ace in their sleeve being the fact that one of them happened to be a Deputy AG.

The cops on scene did not care. The manager said he wanted them to leave. When asked if he wanted them charged with trespass. He said sure. All he wanted was for them to leave.

That’s when things began to escalate. The girl in the red dress, around who this video is centered (Devon Flanagan Hogan) tried to instruct cops about the law (badly). She tried to tell him to turn off his bodycam. (Not going to happen.) The ‘helpful’ friend (Veronica Hannan) got huffy and told the cop the chick he was talking to was a lawyer. That prompt found a home in Hogan’s thinking and she took it the next step. She’s not just a ‘lawyer’ but a lawyer with a title: a ‘DA’. (Ok, she’s technically a Special Assistant Attorney General, but that’s a lot of words for someone to get out after a night on the town, and not as important-sounding as ‘AG’).

When they tried to invoke what the cops called ‘bull**** lawyer stuff’ and asked one of their husbands to ‘get your children out of here’ things got spicy pretty quick.

She was given a choice: you’re tresspass or we have to leave now. He even told them that he ‘did not want to arrest you guys’. But they left him no choice.

Instead of seeing this was going badly for her and leaving quietly, she tried to get cute on technicalities with the trespass charge the cop was explaining to her. She took a stand in the restaurant and forced his hand In the end, both ladies found themselves cuffed and in the back of a police car.

As the video shows, they did not go quietly, not even into the car.
