Promise Kept: Tracker App Shows Price Falls Below $2/Gal For First Time In 4 Years

Any clown can make a massive promise. But delivering on it is something altogether different. One of the promises Trump ran on was dropping the cost of gas to reasonable levels.
Joe Biden’s administration passed a massive bill they called the ‘inflation reduction act’. When called out on it long after the fact, they finally admitted it did nothing to rein in inflation. It was really just a Trojan Horse for sneaking in a lot of unpopular Green New Deal policies that would not otherwise have been supported. Manchin was the lone holdout, and his excuse for voting for it was the assurances that it would not raise inflation. That 9% inflation figure in the Biden years tells you everything you need to know about how that worked out.
Lesson: If they’re willing to deceive their own elected officials, don’t go looking for the truth from their mouths.
The other tactic they tried was sacrificing National Security to deceive the country into thinking that the price of energy was coming down. They drew down the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (that Trump had topped up when oil prices crashed during COVID), just to shave a couple of cents off gas prices.
It was a game of smoke and mirrors to manipulate the voters, and completely unsustainable.
Trump took another strategy. Throw open the floodgates for energy producers of every stripe and help generate more energy than we can possibly use, and export the surplus, bringing prices down.
His shorthand was the familiar slogan, drill baby drill.
It worked.
And here’s the best part.
The reason we’re even talking about this is because a media clown decided to troll Trump on the promise he made about bringing gas prices down… which gave him the opportunity to crow about just how far they HAVE come down.
And they’re looking pretty good elsewhere, too.
