Speaker Johnson Takes Kaitlin Collins To School On The Schumer Shutdown’s REAL Impacts
Try as she might to push the Dem narrative, Mike keeps showing why she's mistaken
Right on cue, Kaitlin Collins shows up to vindicate Dem policy in the name of ‘journalism’… but Republicans have learned how to play this game without getting caught in media traps.
Democrats had the chance to pass a ‘nothing changes’ budget extention until later in the year when both sides can vote on changes. Exactly the same measure they forced down Republican throats time and again even when the GOP senate could technically block the Dems from getting to their 60 vote threshhold. And they were foolish enough to do so without making any meaningful concessions.
Dems, on the other hand, play for keeps. They know media flunkies in the networks can be reliably counted on to parrot their description of what is really happening in DC. Which means, if there’s a shutdown, it will ALWAYS be pinned on Republicans, no matter WHAT the real facts happen to be.
Notice how she doesn’t take any interest in why three Democrats would see the CR as a reasonable compromise while larger policy issues get hammered out. She went straight to asking why the GOP didn’t give in to the health care concessions demanded by the Dems.
And watch how hard she pushes back, trying to persuade her viewers to skip past what he said about the CBO verifying GOP claims that changes in the Big Beautiful Bill really DID make a difference in cleaning up waste fraud and abuse, including more than 2 million ineligible enrollees have been removed from receiving benefits.

Again and again she misses the point or gets the facts wrong. Again and again he corrects her.
If Dems actually feared real consequences like an honest press telling the public what REALLY happens when Dems pull political stunts, they would be far less likely to pull them, because the ‘Find Out’ side of the equation will no longer be worth any sort term gains picked up by the first half of that acronym.
