The future we were promised with 'flying cars' is closer than you think
As drone tech keeps advancing more and more, the question was inevitable — when they get the flying drone cars figured out, would you try one?
There are a few companies hoping to cash in on the flying car dream, and the one that named itself after the cartoon that dreamed of a day when we all had flying cars and robot maids has started showing off what they can do, even racing four of them at once through a course with enormous pylons for a slalom event.
They’re calling it, appropriately enough, the Jetson Air Games.
It might sound like someone kicked over a nest of hornets, but they’re showcasing what they can do in terms of maneuvering. But running these machines over a runway a short distance above the ground only part of the story.
The company has other videos on their channel showing what heading to the top of a mountain might be like…
(Which has obvious search-and-rescue implications.)
Or a commute that doesn’t have bother with annoying details like roads. (This video was taken in Tuscany, no less.)
