Sec Bessent Takes Morning Joe To School On What REALLY Drives Inflation … Citing MIT

Spoiler alert: the party who tried to add $1.5T to the budget won't cite this study

Hey Democrats. You want us to ‘believe the science’ right? What about when MIT says your economic model CAUSED the inflation pain Americans have complained about since Biden slumped behind the (ir)Resolute Desk.

From the moment Trump announced what he dubbed ‘Liberation Day’, where he unveiled the tariffs that would rebalance global trade, leveraging it to hammer out trade deal after trade deal, we were told that policy was going to destroy the economy.

While the jury is still out on some of the impacts these policies have had on the consumer, and whether too-Late Powell’s policy may have been a significant wildcard in the outcomes, it’s pretty obvious that (so far at least) the Chicken Little types have proven the age old-adage of economists predicting ‘nine of the last five recessions’.

Trump called them ‘Panicans’. It’s still possible their predictions could come true, but to this point, history support’s Trump’s intiative… especially when we look at the foreign investment in manufacturing, steel, rare earths, superconductors, pharmacology, and all the rest.

Secretary Bessent went into hostile territory, and made the case to MSNBC why tariff policy wasn’t the nightmare we are told it was. He could have rehashed the exact same arguments he’s been using since Inauguration, but he didn’t.

He turned to MIT — a source MSNBC’s Morning Joe viewers would consider reputable — to make the case using real numbers to explain why Trump admin economic policies are better for the ordinary voter’s wallet than the ‘inflation reduction’ madness pushed by Biden.

Forty-two percent of the great inflation was caused by deficit spending.

(You know, like that $1.5 TRILLION Schumer failed to force Repubicans to add to the budget.)

We’re a long way from being out of the woods yet, adding another Trillion to the debt every few months, but as those factories and industries come on line, there will be no tariffs on their Made-In-USA products, but they will add to the GDP, and government revenue streams as an early step toward getting the budget back in the black.
