California’s Corrupt Primary System Might Backfire In The Most Hilarious Way
The jungle primary was supposed to give Dem candidates an unfair advantage, but...

The inherent problem in unthreatened majorities is the mistaken belief that the ride will go on forever. If elections were held today, they would be the example of how such hubris can backfire.
There are all kinds of ways for establishment types to game the system to insulate the outcomes from the will of the people. In Texas Senate primaries, both parties have dumped big money in support of the ‘establishment’ candidate, and Dems even played some dirty tricks against their own ‘rising star’ Jasmine Crockett by giving her creepy opponent Talarico millions and millions of dollars worth of free exposure via Colbert to knock her out of the race.
In Alaska, ranked voting (that seems like it was instituted to safeguard Murkowski, the RINO senator from a bright-red state) managed to split the vote between MAGA and establishment so badly that a Dem picked up a House seat there. That’s how hubris can backfire. Murkowski was the only ‘Republican’ senator to explicitly vote ‘NO’ on the Save America Act.
California, assuming that their big edge in the popular vote would translate into a primary advantage took a state that was reliably conservative until the 1990s into a reliable blue stronghold where GOP candidates would barely stand a chance. In a jungle primary, the two candidates with the most total votes advance to the general election, even if they are both Democrats.
Again, hubris always leaves room for massive blind spots. They never seem to ask the right ‘what if’ questions when they make their power-grabs.
Now, the what-ifs are staring them right in the face, and the Democrats don’t like it.
The vote isn’t until June, and a lot can change between then and now, including Dems wising up to this problem and adjusting their votes strategically. But depending how deep the divides in the partisanship go, and how split the donors are in pushing their interests against rival interests the leftwing lapdog representing a DIFFERENT political faction of the left, there is an interesting dynamic at play, not unlike the dynamic where short-sighted infighting in Alaska resulted in a Democrat sneaking in and taking the seat.
But this one is WAY funnier.

It’s funnier because it would leave Dem voters stuck with a choice between TWO Republican candidates for Governor one being a sheriff and the other a Fox News personality.
You can expect that outcome, if it happens, to result in four years of howling about illegitimacy and disenfranchising (of the kind they happily endorsed when it gored the other team’s ox), and might even call for a return to more traditional party primaries. (Which Dems are VERY good at rigging to benefit their establishment candidate. Just ask Bernie Sanders.)
As anyone who’s read the old Greek stories can tell you, hubris NEVER works out the way you think it will.

How funny would it be to see the ‘social justice’ folks fall prey to the much more satisfying ‘poetic justice’?
Seems a good time to mention this…
Giles Volume II The Trump Collection (Doug Giles Art Collection)
This Donald Trump art book is the victory lap that conservatives have been waiting for since 2020. This hard-cover, full-color glossy collection by conservative painter, Doug Giles, will entertain you for hours on end and quickly become a valuable collector’s item as an icon of the MAGA movement.
“I’ve had a blast painting my Trump Collection over the last seven years. Several of these paintings made me laugh so hard that milk came out of my nostrils, and I haven’t had milk for thirty-six years. These epic paintings now reside in bars, hunting camps, man caves, she sheds, trophy rooms, and God and Country MAGA homes from sea to shining
sea.
One word of warning before you purchase this Trump Collection: This book will spawn liberal tears, Marxist rage, and NeoCon hissy fits, of course.
Finally, I hope you thoroughly enjoy this DJT gaggle of my gadfly oil paintings.” God bless, and stay rowdy. Doug Giles
