A Pastor’s Warning to President Trump

It's one thing to blow off 'woke' church leaders, but when patriots start calling you out...?

The following is from my life long friend and fellow pastor, Jeff McCreight. Few pastors are as patriotic and kingdom-committed as Jeff. Jeff penned this post in light of Trump’s comparing himself with Jesus and his other, increasingly unhinged, antics. – Doug Giles

“This is nothing about politics and everything about principle:

The Bible says that “Pride goes before a fall”, and “God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble”.

On April the 12th, along with other negative “comments” about Pope Leo the 14th, the American President stated that if he was not in the Whitehouse, Pope Leo would not be in the Vatican.

To state about one’s SELF, that he has the power and influence to set in the leader of the world’s largest denomination is something that should bother anyone and especially Christian Americans.

God has no issue with dealing with sin or mistakes, but the Bible clearly informs us that Pride is one attitude that God will not tolerate for long.

God explicitly referred to a pagan man, King Nebuchadnezzar, as “My servant”. But, because of Neb’s extreme pride, God later humbled him, forcing him to live like an animal and eat grass with the cattle for seven years.

King Saul was “anointed” by the Prophet Samuel, as instructed by God, to be king over Israel. But when he got arrogant, God tore the throne away from Saul like the threads of a sun faded garment.

Later that April 12th evening is when the AI picture of the president in a robe, with light beaming from his hands, was posted.

That was on Orthodox Easter.

He said he was trying to look like a “doctor” making people better.

I can help: If you want to dress up like a doctor, get you a long white coat, have your name embroidered on the chest, and throw a stethoscope around your neck. Most 4 year olds will get it.

During a time of war is NO TIME to be arrogant or prideful. We need an “Edmund Fitzgerald” size cargo ship of God’s Grace right now.

Humility will bring it in, but pride and arrogance will send it to another Port.”
