MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+. What is it? A cryptic message? A mathematical formula? A chemical compound? Some type of legal code?
It is actually an updated acronym by the Left, and it stands for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual.
This acronym used to be LGBT, then it apparently was updated to LGBT+, then later updated to LGBTQ+, and still later updated to LGBTQIA+ (note: it may have been known as LGBTQI+ prior to that update).
At any rate, the latest update to this group of people occurred a few days ago, when a member of the Canadian Parliament named Leah Gazan, upset over the Canadian Government making budget cuts from the Indigenous Services Canada and Crown-Indigenous Relations, introduced the newest version of the acronym. Gazan claimed there was an ongoing genocide against such people, and apparently the latest update to this acronym was due to the Canadian Government highlighting rates of violence against Indigenous women and girls.
I was not aware of a genocide against gays, lesbians, etc. occurring in Canada. And how bad is the situation regarding violence towards Indigenous women and girls there?
Odds are there is no genocide against gays, lesbians, etc. in that country. And as for the violence towards Indigenous women and girls, it is probably not as serious as some claim.
And even if both claims are true, are there any statistics or cases to prove such claims?
At any rate, this acronym has undergone updates in Canada in previous years. In 2017, the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario came up with an updated acronym- LGGBDTTTIQQAAPP, which stands for Lesbian, Gay, Genderqueer, Bisexual, Demisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, Two-Spirit, Intersex, Queer, Questioning, Asexual, Allies, Pansexual, Polyamorous.
What is to stop the Left from adding more letters, numbers, and symbols representing a certain type of people to this acronym? The next thing you know, this acronym will consist of around fifty letters, numbers, and symbols. Then it will soon consist of around a hundred letters, numbers, and symbols.
Where does it end? Where will it end?
And will the authorities impose penalties for those who use the incorrect term? It’s bad enough some people face fines and/or jail time for using the incorrect pronouns- particularly in cases where they failed to comply for someone who identified as the opposite sex, even if it was then inadvertently.
As the saying goes, what’s in a name?
Or in this case, what’s in an acronym?
