With the rise of the Democratic-Socialists and the Hamas-friendly wing of the party, maybe there is some good reason for that.
Let’s recall, however, that these are the people that screech about “democracy” and call Republicans authoritarians.
There has been a populist wave hitting both sides of the political aisle with many Americans fed up with the mainstream wings of both parties. On the Right, that expressed itself first the Tea Party movement, then MAGA. On the Left, it was the Bernie Bros and the unintentionally hilarious and softer than Charmin Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
The DSA is on the rise with several members like Darializa Avila Chevalier in NYC, Nithya Raman who surged past Spencer Pratt in the L.A. mayoral race as the counting dragged on, and the DSA-adjacent Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan, who are either winning or leading in their primary races against establishment Democrats.
This isn’t sitting well with establishment Dems who don’t seem to like giving up control.
Jen Psaki, former Press Secretary for the Biden White House, just admitted on MSNBC what we all knew was happening–Democrat leadership would back a candidate in the primary by throwing money at ’em and securing the nomination for their preferred candidate. Of course, it looks pretty bad for the party of “democracy” to not trust their own voters, but that was just the way it was. Psaki notes that that just ain’t the way things are rolling now.

The Vigilant Fox posted the clip on X and wrote, “The party that claimed to represent ‘democracy’ never trusted its own voters to pick their nominees.”
That does seem to be the gist of it.
