HEY UNIONS: That ‘Free Healthcare’ Dems Keep Pitching Will Come At The Expense Of THIS
Generations of collective bargaining would go up in smoke

By definition, ‘Progressive’ never announces their true goals, just the next step in their ‘long march’ — Obamacare was never the goal. It was always about instituting government-run health care.
And we should all take a lesson from the example of Democrats themselves — who ‘loved’ Obamacare so damned much that they exempted themselves from the consequences of it.
Union members are waking up to the reality of the devil’s bargain they’re being asked to cosign, and some — like this guy — have begun to speak up about it:
Abdul’s plan would strip health coverage away from union workers who have fought to negotiate the plans they have.
Chris is right — Abdul’s plan is totally insane. https://t.co/PZ7L3oJV0k

Obamacare failed it’s promises to ‘reduce the cost of healthcare’ SO badly that Dems had to slip a special tax rebate into their COVID budget to offset higher prices, so voters wouldn’t notice how much it was costing them. When those ‘temporary fixes’ of forwarding the bill to the taxpayer expired, they shut the government down — among other things — trying to force Republicans to adopt Democrat policy of gradually nationalizing all of the things.
The goalposts have shifted, and they no longer want Obamacare. They want free healthcare. Here’s the Dem senate candidate from Michigan in his own words:
“What if we tweaked the Constitution, amended the amendment, and instead of the right to bear arms, we change it to the right to have health care?” he said in a YouTube video posted on April 6, 2023. — FoxNews
That’s pretty rich coming from a guy whose own wife’s clinic has opted out of Medicare.
Before he does, he’ll need to reckon with an awkward contradiction in his pitch for socialized medicine. According to reporting from the Washington Free Beacon, El-Sayed’s wife, psychiatrist Dr. Sarah Jukaku, does not accept health insurance — and has opted out of Medicare. — PacificResearchInstitute
The ‘health plan’ Bernie Sanders is pitching explicitly calls for the abolition of private health care. If you are wondering what it looks like to live in that sort of system, especially when you ALSO embrace unlimited immigration adding to the pool of users without a corresponding increase in the infrastructure and stable revenues keeping it funded, look no further than Canada or the UK.
Here’s a Canadian blog that’s a couple of years old describing just how bad the problem was there in 2024. Waves of immigration since then continued to overload the system. Whatever the numbers are now, they’re worse, not better. Canada’s own state news source (with all the heavy biases you might expect) put it thusly, in an article describing the ‘Doctor Wait list’ tool for connecting patients to family doctors, citing government numbers:
However, despite the benefits for patients, he said, at least in Ontario, only a relatively small number of the unattached patients in Ontario use them. About 200,000 are registered on HCC. But more than two million Ontarians are without a doctor, according to the Ontario Community Health Profiles Partnership, a website that publishes data on health-related services to meet community needs. — CBC (emphasis added)
Of course none of this answers the basic question: where will the money come from. As it stands now, even the interest payments on the national debt are one of the biggest line items the taxpayer gets dinged for. How does he propose to take blood from a stone?
Or will it be yet another example of bogus promises delivered to credible rubes — just like Governors from California have been pushing for years, without paying any meaningful price over it?
