The vilification of police officers is absolutely awful and needs to end. They put their lives on the line simply by doing their jobs.
This isn’t even an officer who was on patrol or engaged in an altercation with a suspect on the street.
This took place on Saturday night at a police station where the unidentified officer was sitting at a desk.
A man walked in, they had a heated debate, the man then assaults the officer and pistol whips him at least four times in the head and then points the gun at the officer’s chest and chin, but the gun didn’t fire.
A Los Angeles police officer is lucky to be alive after an assailant walked into his police station, knocked him to the ground, pistol-whipped him with his own weapon, and then pulled the trigger repeatedly at point blank range.
Jose Cerpa Guzman, 29, was arrested for attempted murder of a police officer. He is being held in lieu of $2.23million bail, the Los Angeles Times reported.
He likely would have killed the officer, who has not been identified, if the gun did not have a safety mechanism that prevented it from firing.
The officer managed to escape with ‘bumps and bruises,’ according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The dramatic encounter was caught on surveillance footage from inside the Harbor Community police station in San Pedro on Saturday night.

That officer was lucky that the suspect didn’t know how to use a gun.
The left wants to “rethink” policing and bring in social workers instead of law enforcement officers.
If that ever happens, we’re going to see attacks on social workers.
