Have We Been LIED To About WHICH Muslims Are Fringe And Which Are Mainstream?

As we grapple with violent uprisings and no-go zones in Europe, this is no small question

If we are already seeing violent cultural clashes in areas where a minority group achieve majority status, this becomes a VERY important question to resolve. And waiting until ‘later’ to ask such questions only make hard decisions harder to face.

It’s all well and good to celebrate cultural differences and religious tolerance. But if we are honest with ourselves, there is a pre-requisite for such attitudes to be successful. The people arriving must also hold to those same attitudes of tolerance and respect.

But thumb through any international newspaper and you’ll quickly see that such cosmopolitan views are a long way from being ‘universal’. In many parts of the world, even supposedly ‘civilized’ ones, there are sharp and inviolable us-and-them distinctions based on gender, class, customs, race, tribe, dialect, profession, sexuality, or an untold list of other differences, real or imagined.

We have been assured, almost since the Day the Towers Fell, that Islam was a Religion of Peace, that the Jihadists are a minority view, and that Western readings of Islam’s Supremacist Escalatology, promising all the world will bow in subjugation to Allah is a rare or minority view. As for Koranic predictions in the case of those who won’t, including explicit descriptions of the eventual elimination of the last of the Jews — will be hunted down until they are all eventually slaughtered? We’re supposed to assume that Muslims don’t take those verses all that seriously.

Having had Muslim roommates and neighbors, that would be a comforting idea if it is in fact true. We can say for sure that there are at least some decent people from that religious background, including the Imam of Peace, as he’s known online, who are more than willing to put their neck out to fight against this kind of jihadism.

But I’m sure I can speak for many Westerners that it would be nice to have some kind of assurances that this is truly a minority view among Islam. Especially with so many European cities on fire lately, and places in Michigan, Minnesota, and now Texas that are becoming Muslim-majority communities.

Stories about extensive and elaborate UK grooming gangs, of European no-go zones, and spikes of violence in some of the very communities that once welcomed so-called refugees with signs and open arms are enough to shake the little certainty some of us may once have had that this really IS a minority view.

Worse than that are the public statements made by the sorts of people who might credibly speak for the religion as a whole making statements that sound like an explicit contradiction of what we’ve been told all these years, several of which appear on this clip:

Somebody has been lying. And it will take someone far more familiar with Islam than your average Joe to know which is which.

The sooner we answer that question, the sooner we can make informed decisions about important policies — up to. and including decisoins like immigration policy and zoning.

Interestingly, a couple of Canadian politicians tried to get Parliamentary debate about whether the method involved in slaughtering Halal meat is in keeping with animal cruelty standards there.

That’s another question that will need to be grappled with, as will other relevant questions like bigamy laws and how to handle their taboos about mixing genders in public spaces without treading on the rights of others who do not share such attitudes.
