JULY 4th: Trump’s Fireworks Set Records While Mamdani’s Just Set Fires

'Nuff said

It isn’t every day that a simple contrast between simple events can tell a larger story, but in this case, it kinda works.

Thunderstorms threatened the dramatic climax to America’s 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. But they did not cancel them.

After Trump gave a speech highlighting notable flags from our history, and notable Americans who were given the opportunity to salute them on stage, Trump announced the fireworks finale, which, we were told, began on the stoke of midnight.

Beloved American songs from across a variety of genres kept the party going, with more than 800,000 fireworks launched, as compared to the typical 20,000. The colossal firework display is apparently the new world record.

That line about ‘turned night into day’ is not a line.
It’s exactly what those watching saw in the finale.

That was on TOP of the jaw-dropping procession of air power that was on display directly above the Washington Mall.

Meanwhile, in New York, Mamdani had a shindig to celebrate the occasion. Well, hearing how he talks about America, celebration is probably stretching it.

How did his party work out? Eh… much as you might expect it might in a city whose administration is rapidly sinking to match its leader’s level of incompetence.

Here’s another look at it.

Oops.

Still better than the cities that nixed their celebrations entirely.

Was the fire out and put under control? Yes.
Was the bridge itself damaged? Not this time.
Was the entire NYC show a wash-out? No.
But hey, there’s always next year.
