Trump Pays Tribute As Second Fatality Of Butler Assassination Succumbs To His Injuries

There are some people cynical enough to laugh off the minor injury to Trump’s ear as part of a ‘staged’ event. But the tragic human cost of that day makes such stories much harder to explain.

We now have a second human casualty complicating their already-convoluted explanation about the ‘fake’ attempt on Trump’s life in Butler PA.

Here’s what Trump said on TruthSocial:

Jim Copenhaver, a true American Patriot, has passed away — A tremendous loss! More than two years ago in Butler, Pennsylvania, a crazed gunman attempted to stifle our America First Movement. Instead, Jim and so many other wonderful Patriots who love our Country, stood united in defense of our shared values of Freedom, Liberty, and Justice. Most people knew about the bullet that just grazed his ear instead of exploding his skull when Trump turned his head to look back at the immigration chart on the screen behind him. Call it luck or Divine Intervention, that neck pivot at exactly the right moment was the difference between raising a defiant fist while saying ‘Fight, Fight, Fight’ and planning a funeral.

We also knew about the 50yo fire chief, Corey Comperatore, who was killed that same day. His memory was honored at the GOP convention that same summer.

Fewer people knew the name Jim Copenhaver, or the fact that he was in the field of fire, and took a bullet to the triceps and another to the abdomen, causing nerve damage and the destruction of part of his colon.

Serving his country was a “defining” aspect of Copenhaver’s life, his family said, and he was deeply grateful for the outpouring of love he received following the Butler shooting.

“As a veteran, he proudly served our nation in the armed forces, and his love of country never wavered,” the statement said. “James was a true American patriot who believed deeply in the freedoms and ideals upon which this nation was founded, and he embodied the very best traits of our great nation.”

The family released a statement through a spokesperson for Allegheny Health Network at the time Copenhaver was discharged. They thanked the public for their support as the family dealt with the aftermath of the “horrible, senseless, and unnecessary act of violence.” — NBC
