  There certainly are differences. And a vote for a 3rd party candidate will assure us another 4 years for Obama and Reid to complete their goal of a NAtional Socialist America. He’s said he wants to bailout every U.S. industry as he did GM and Chrysler. Yes, and GM still owes Billions back to the government. But Obama can have more money printed so we might be able to buy a loaf of bread for $20.

Gee, that would take too much time AND be logical.   Romney believes in the trinity. The Mormon church is a little to strict for me but I have Mormon friends and they are great people. There is very few divorces in Mormon families. They believe in family! I don’t see Romney putting down the Gay community, he will pray for them.

    Well, check the Mormon divorce rate in Utah….when I lived there it was the highest in the nation. One of my good friends introduced me to his wife stating “we are a typical Mormon family, we have my kids, her kids, and our kids.” The “trinity” they believe in is not the same one the Apostolic Church passed down…..As for being good people, some are, some aren’t. I had to put one in jail for attempting to steal some real estate from me. Lost a lot of money to Mormons….Also have some friends.

I also remember something in mormon theology that their church or leaders would someday take over and restore the USA to the Constitution. Altho I’d disagree with the former I’ll certainly take the latter.

      Panors77, you’re buying into half-truths that other religions have tried to pin on Latter Day Saints for as long as the church has existed. If you study the scriptures you will learn that there is nothing in the church that is not found in the Bible. As for what we believe, eternity is a very LOOOOOOONG time. Who are we to say these things CAN’T be true? I pay attention to what people DO, not just what they are purported to believe. I’d rather have one Mormon in my corner than a thousand atheists — especially if that Mormon holds the priesthood of God. They always give God the glory. Learn a little more about what Mormons REALLY believe. Here’s a novel idea — ask a Mormon and then actually LISTEN to their answers. Better still, ask a missionary. They can tell you what you need/want to know.

      Its not about golden plates, its about a religion that don’t follow the beliefs of main stream Christianity. That is all opinion and belief that differs from most, however; they are as Christian and good as any other. More so than those who feels it Christian to berate and vilify Mormons, yet claim all the while they are true Christians. They are not really any different, just devout in their beliefs in Christ and hold a higher standard. Obama has to go. At this point, a vote for the devil would be an improvement. The Trinity describes three persons who are one God, not one individual, but one being. You don’t even have the concept right. Also, Mormonism teaches that God has not always been God but was once a man, that Jesus had to attain godhood and that he was the spirit brother of the devil. In other words, Jesus was not eternal. They also believe that one day men will become gods themselves and live on their own planet and for special ones that have been married in the temple they will have it even better than the Muslims.

        In the New Testament the Christ was seen before and after the resurrection and His ascension as well by MANY witnesses, not just a guy off by himself.
        
        The fact that a church bears the name Jesus Christ means nothing when Jesus said you would know them by their fruits and in that very passage he is speaking of their doctrines. Mormonism teaches moralism, which is anti-christian doctrine. Are we to do good works after we are born again? Of course, but the point is that Mormonism teaches a different Father and Son than the ones found in Scripture.,
        
        Christians, this is the reason it is imperative that you don’t vote for a polytheist like Mitt Romney. The gospel is first. Our citizenship in heaven comes before America. Part of this reared it’s ugly head in Germany and the Churches became nationalists, rather than Christian. Just look at pictures and what went on during that time. They gave more allegiance to the state than they did to Christ.
        
        Now we are overlooking serious long term implications for the confusion of the gospel with a cult’s message. Mark my words there will be instant credibility of a movement that has historically and biblically been defined as a heresy should Romney be elected.
        
        BTW, I ain’t voting Obama, so don’t even go there and a vote for someone else is just that: someone else, neither candidate. In fact, I wonder why some people don’t tell Democrats that if they vote Ron Paul, it’s a vote for Mitt Romney (yes polls show he would pull votes from Obama), but they don’t. That logic to them, which is not logical in the first place, doesn’t work both ways.

        This is correct. Tim knows the history very well. You have to go back to the teachings of Joseph Smith (the creator of the religion) and see what the foundation of the belief is. I have neighbors who attend an LDS church and are very devout believers and they confirm they believe this too, so neither myself or Tim are making this up.

I have studied the Bible for many years now. I started studying to prove that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was NOT true. I ended up proving to myself THROUGH SCRIPTURE that it IS true and that nothing in the Book of Mormon contradicts the Bible and nothing in the Bible contradicts the Book of Mormon. I have been a member of the church since 1976 and I am happy to say so. I know it’s true and no one can prove to me it isn’t.

        Doug Giles calls for a strong Church and so do I, but that must come also to the point that we stand unabashedly for the truth of the gospel. I would really like to see Giles actually deal with the differences of Mormonism and Christianity. I would like for him to actually point that out and then let all the neo-con Mormons and sadly Christians brand him as a bigot. He wouldn’t be a bigot as he tolerates Romney and Mormonism, but that would be the attack I can assure you.

        Without a Prophet who speaks for God, people will not be able to stay focused on what is right.

        Let me let you in on a little something that Jesus referred to. It occurred during the story of the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 21. There Abraham responds to the rich man, who wants Lazarus to go back and warn his brothers not to come to the place he is in, saying that if they will not hear Moses and the Prophets, they won’t believe someone though he were risen from the dead.
        
        Same applies here. I have Moses. I have the Prophets. I have the Lord Jesus. I have his apostles. I listen to them. They speak the truth and Jesus says if you won’t hear them, there is no use in listening to anyone else, even another that would rise from the dead.
        
        I do follow the Word of God, as it is written. You are following a man who had a private interpretation, which Peter says unequivocally is not valid. That’s the same Peter that witnessed the transfiguration and the resurrected Lord. He said the Word of prophecy, or the Word of God was more valid than his experience. This is something you are unwilling to affirm.
        
        I do follow the Scriptures, which are written by men of God. I do not follow the false prophets of Mormonism, nor am I afraid of them. Sadly you are following the ministers of Satan, as Paul declared them, who disguise themselves as angels of light. They appear to be godly, they talk that way, but they know nothing of the power of God or the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Since, I believe that office is that of the minister of God (Rom. 13), I cannot in good conscience vote for a polytheist to be God’s minister in that capacity. I wouldn’t do it in a church. I won’t do it in the civil sphere either. God is sovereign. I don’t have to fast to know what God has said concerning the position. Neither man is qualified for that office. Both are socialists. The debate demonstrated that last night.
        
        As for morals, you put those things on Obama and yet Mitt Romney instituted them all and more in Massachusetts. He implemented homosexual ‘marriage’ by executive order, supports homosexual couples adopting children, being in the boy scouts, the military and mandated healthcare which used tax payer dollars to pay for abortions with a $50 co-pay. he still claims to support abortions. So honestly, I see no morals there that you speak of about Obama that Romney doesn’t carry as well.

        While Christ spoke and did things openly and his disciples saw it not in a closet but openly and so did the critics, Joseph Smith claims all these things happened to him in private, with no witnesses at all. This is exactly how every false religion begins. It is no different with Mormonism.

How can the “rapture” be “imminent”?
Acts 3:21 says that Jesus
“must” stay in heaven (He’s now there with the Father) “until the
times of restitution of all things” which includes, says Scofield, “the
restoration of the theocracy under David’s Son” which obviously can’t
begin before or during Antichrist’s reign. (“The Rapture Question,” by
the long time No. 1 pretrib authority John Walvoord, didn’t dare to even
list, in its scripture index, the too-hot-to-handle Acts 3:21!) Since
Jesus can’t even leave heaven before
the tribulation ends (Acts 2:34,35 echo this), the rapture therefore
can’t take place before
the end of the trib! (The same Acts verses were also too hot for John
Darby – the so-called “father of dispensationalism” – to list in the
scripture index in his “Letters”!)
Paul explains the
“times and the seasons” (I
Thess. 5:1) of the catching up (I Thess. 4:17) as the “day of the Lord”
(5:2) which FOLLOWS the posttrib sun/moon darkening (Matt. 24:29;
Acts 2:20) WHEN “sudden destruction” (5:3) of the wicked occurs! The
“rest” for “all them that believe” is tied to such destruction in II
Thess. 1:6-10! (If
the wicked are destroyed before or during the trib, who’d be left
alive to serve the Antichrist?) Paul also ties the
change-into-immortality “rapture” (I Cor. 15:52) to the posttrib end of
“death” (15:54). (Will death be ended before or during the trib? Of
course not! And vs. 54 is also tied to Isa. 25:8 which is Israel’s
posttrib resurrection!)
Many are unaware that before
1830 all Christians had always viewed I Thess. 4’s “catching up” as an
integral part of the final second coming to earth. In 1830 this “rapture” was
stretched forward and turned into a separate coming of Christ. To
further strengthen their novel view, which the mass of evangelical
scholars rejected throughout the 1800s, pretrib teachers in the early
1900s began to stretch forward the “day of the Lord” (what Darby and
Scofield never dared to do) and hook it up with their
already-stretched-forward “rapture.” Many leading evangelical scholars
still weren’t convinced of pretrib, so pretrib teachers then began
teaching that the “falling away” of II Thess. 2:3 is really a pretrib
rapture (the same as saying that the “rapture” in 2:3 must happen
before the “rapture” ["gathering"] in 2:1 can happen – the height of
desperation!).
