Gracious President: Israel CAN Defend Herself!

A few days ago, the President stated he believes Israel should not escalate military activity in Gaza

It wasn’t stated that succinctly. The president, as is his wont, was much more long-winded. And he inadvertently showed us some ankle. The president, after imperiously decreeing that “Israel has a right to defend herself from Hamas” last week, took the time in Bangkok, Sunday, to clarify his position.

According to the Associated Press, he handed down the pronouncement that “Israel has every right to expect that it does not have missiles fired into its territory.” Big of him. But, why “territory?” Diplomatically speaking, what is a territory? Webster’s Dictionary defines “territory” as “an indeterminate geographic area.” Not a country, nation or state, a “territory.”

Our imperial president continued: “If that can be accomplished without a ramping up of military activity in Gaza, that’s preferable. It’s not just preferable for the people of Gaza. It’s also preferable for Israelis, because if Israeli troops are in Gaza, they’re much more at risk of incurring fatalities or being wounded.” Uh HUH.

Perhaps the president presumes that Israelis should throw spitballs or, if everyone in Israel stuck their tongues out and yelled “N’yah N’yah” in the direction of Gaza, Syria and Egypt, that would do the trick. But, no; that would surely be “escalating” things.

Last week, dozens of rockets were launched into civilian centers in Israel, directly into the heart of Tel Aviv. Attacks have subsequently increased. Missiles were being fired into Jerusalem and its surrounding suburbs. But the Lyin’ King is worried that Israel might escalate hostilities by responding. The Israeli military might incur “fatalities” or be “wounded.” In that order. The mortal danger to Israeli children, men, women, civilians in general, is of no concern. CNN, however, aired phonied-up images of “injured” Palestinians (verified as bogus) to gin up sympathy for the attackers.

It should be pointed out that some attacks originated from Egypt. Yes, Mohamed Morsi’s Egypt, home of the “Arab Spring” and the nothing-to-see-here eruption of “isolated incidents,” leading to the Islamic firestorms in Benghazi and all around the Islamic world.

The biggest hypocrite concerning peace with Israel is a toss-up between our president and the president of Egypt. It’s dead even; the tie can’t even be broken by awarding extra points for “lying with a straight face.” Every action taken by Mohamed Morsi, an unrepentant representative of the Muslim Brotherhood, demonstrates his desire for Israel’s destruction. He has ordered Egyptian troops into the Sinai, in direct conflict with Egypt’s peace treaty, supposedly in force with Israel. He has even been taped, praying for Israel’s destruction, in a mosque.

Yet with our current administration and their toadying press corpse, all Mohamed Morsi has to do is say that he wants “peace.” A precedent set by Yasser Arafat. But actions speak louder than words; what he really wants is for Israel to take a long walk off a short pier; a vision that our president evidently shares.

The Lyin’ King is committed to his fiction of an Arab Spring. To protect that fantasy, he is willing to commit cover-ups that dwarf anything that has ever been perpetrated on an American public. He never requires Islamic nations that completely surround Israel, a country roughly the size of New Jersey, to moderate their rhetoric or actions. These Islamic countries instigate the violence at every turn. They outnumber Israel’s microscopic population by an order of magnitude, yet they are incessantly peddled as “victims” while Israel is forever cast as the aggressor.

According to the president, Israel is not a state; it’s a territory. And a “territory” is land up for grabs. What the president really intends by his charitable pronouncements is that Israel “has the right to expect that it does not have missiles fired into its territory” but, if missiles are fired, Israel had better not do anything about it.

UPDATE: The Associated Press story titled “Obama Warns Against Ramping Up” is, as of this writing, No longer available. That headline still appears on The Drudge Report and in many other locations but the story attached to that headline has been replaced in its entirety with a paean to the president’s “landmark” trip to Myanmar.
