Angry, Panicked Conservatives, Don’t Forget: Perspectives & Priorities

And there’s so much negativity out there. Just look at people’s Facebook pages, twitter feeds; like I said. Talk to your conservative friends. It’s a festival of sky is falling drama. And yes, we as a nation have been through much worse.

I am going to shock you all. The Civil War was worse than every rotten problem we have right now. The Great Depression was worse than this. And we survived the British burning down the White House during the War of 1812. But for many, it’s the end of the world. No concept of that good old American character trait of determination and no idea of historical waves. It seems like everything is going wrong right now and yet, look at our own history and remember we’ve been through far harder times than this.

If you want to defeat the left, stick together like they do. Instead of going nuts over non-issues like Gardasil, or Texas in-state college tuition, give conservatives like Rick Perry and others a fair shot. Stop the personality cults and start thinking. No one candidate is going to save us. We need a man or woman who will step back and let us save ourselves. We have a very deep, wide field to choose from for 2016 and the Senate is within our grasp, even with Marco Rubio’s ridiculous support of the now dead immigration reform bill which will gather dust, mold over and disappear like the carcass of a cockroach in some basement antechamber under the House.

So, our priorities should be to listen to one another, ignore the urge to bandwagon and remember in unity lies victory. That’s a priority, to be united.

Priorities for us right now should be these: Family, Faith, friends and work. That’s all. When we realize how little the other stuff matters it’s liberating. Get involved, but don’t be so involved you mess up the important stuff.
