THANK YOU, GRUBER: Liberal Elitism Exposed

One cannot fault ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber for saying more than once that American voters are stupid.  After all, electing Obama twice provides ample evidence the claim is true, on occasion.  The trouble for Gruber: in context, his claim is false, plus, his remarks reveal the arrogant heart and the deceptive mind of the dictator.  (Note: he is not sorry for what he said.  He only regrets being so publicly candid about what he really thinks.)

From the very beginning, American voters smelled a rat in the center of ObamaCare: income redistribution leading to a complete government takeover.  After all, Harry Reid and Barney Frank were very forthcoming about these matters.  We didn’t need Republicans or Tea Party people to tell us Obama was lying all along about the substance and intent of the legislation.  When every dirty trick in the book had to be employed to achieve passage, the smell of the rat “matured”. And when we learned the law amounted to 2,400 pages, with 30,000 pages of implementing regulations following, the bloated, dead rat exploded.  Then there were Obama’s serial lies and excuses surrounding the three-ring rollout.

Gruber claims the ObamaCare law was intentionally written so as to deceive people, otherwise it would “never have passed.”  Actually, the truth is, it passed only because it was railroaded by the Democrat majority.  Not one Republican voted for it.  Furthermore, from day one, a substantial majority of voters opposed it, and that majority opposition has been evidenced ever since.  In fact, polling data indicates the Democrat Waterloo last week can be traced in large part to voter anger concerning ObamaCare.

Apparently, the American voter is not quite as stupid a Gruber thinks.  It’s all reminiscent of a famous Winston Churchill quote:  “You can always count on Americans to do the right thing – after they’ve tried everything else.”

However, the salient dimension of Gruber’s remarks, aligning perfectly with beliefs held dear by the Dear Leader, is they reveal the true heart of the Democrat mainstream: only the elite, professorial class should make decisions on important matters, because, the great unwashed masses are simply too ignorant to decide for themselves.

This is the essence of Democrat thinking.  Average people really should not be allowed to vote, so it is ok to withhold information, doctor information, and float false information, because the rubes need to be manipulated into the light. Such thinking explains their contempt for the Constitution.  They do not believe government should be “of, by and for the people.”  They believe they alone should run the show.  Their enlightened minds are so superior, they assume a divine right to rule, thus justifying all kinds of lawless behavior and deception.  In all this they give themselves permission to destroy our liberty, for our own good, of course.

The hilarious aspect of their proceedings is they routinely shoot themselves in the foot, their superior intellect failing to inform them of the folly of this errant and ridiculous thinking.  To their own injury, they ignore the proverb that might otherwise inform them to wisdom: “For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.”  Luke 8:17

Gruber and Obama and company fail to realize the reawakening and American affection for Original Principles and Founding Ideas, for they ignore men like John Adams in their haste to crown themselves in the image of King George III:

Let it be known that British liberties are not the grants of Princes or Parliaments. That many of our rights are inherent, and essential, agreed on as maxims and established as preliminaries even before parliament existed. We have a right to them, derived from our maker. Our forefathers have earned and bought liberties for us at the expense of their ease, their estates, their pleasures, and their blood. Liberty is not built on the doctrine that a few nobles have the right to inherit the earth. No. NO! It stands on this principle: that the meanest, and the lowest of people ARE, by the unalterable and indefeasible laws of god and nature as well entitled to the benefit of the air to breath, light to see, food to eat, and clothes to wear as the nobles or the king! THAT is LIBERTY. And Liberty will reign in America!

— John Adams, leader of the American Revolution, 2nd President of the United States
