DOWNFALL OF AMERICA? Secular Society, Political Correctness, Moral Blindness

I believe that no society is ever more than three generations away from extinction.

Whether or not you choose to acknowledge this truth, America’s founders established this country on Judeo-Christian principles. It’s a part of our great history and heritage. Moreover, the proofs of this statement are carved in the walls and monuments all over Washington.

Unfortunately, America is quickly on its way to becoming a secular society, with no lasting memory or acknowledgment of its once-Christian heritage.

Parents no longer take their children to church, or make it a serious priority in their upbringing, in much the same way as their parents failed to do before them. And increasingly, we are approaching the third generation of Americans who have failed to learn these principles of Christian and moral teaching in their formative years.

America is becoming a secular society, with no use for the Lord and His words in Scripture.

It is any wonder we increasingly try to explain away the truths of Scripture, including Biblical condemnations of sodomy, which can be found in both the Old and New Testaments?

As I’ve said before, the Bible isn’t a menu, from which you can only pick and choose those items which suit your tastes.

Unless you’re President Obama, you don’t get to determine which laws in America you will choose to obey. And you also don’t get to determine which sins the Lord will fail to judge.

As Americans, you certainly have the freedom to embrace whatever illicit behaviors you desire; however, you must also face the realization that your modern and so-called “enlightened” opinions don’t change the ancient and time-proven truths of Scripture or the Lord’s condemnation of your actions.

If the Lord was opposed to it before, he still is.

And the Lord hasn’t changed.

You have.

If you’re over the age of forty, you no doubt remember a time in this country when Christianity wasn’t routinely mocked or ridiculed on television and in the halls of Washington.

However, it has now become almost cool and trendy to mock the values of faith and the truths of Scripture.

Even those who would rarely darken the door of a church were once hesitant to make fun of the Bible or Christianity, because someone in their family, a precious mother, grandparent, or beloved aunt, used to take them to Sunday School every week.

And although they often failed to embrace those same traditional values in their own daily lives, these same individuals also didn’t question their merits, worth, and positive impact on society at large.

Such is no longer the case.

Rarely a day passes that we don’t learn about another series of murders committed by the forces of Islam, many of those crimes inflicted upon Christians.

Yet, it doesn’t matter how many world-wide atrocities Islam commits, the president and the media routinely warn us that we shouldn’t condemn them.

However, we have only to look at the recent events in Indiana to learn that these same people have no problem on a daily basis condemning Christians who believe they should have every right to practice the tenets of their own faith.

In short, these hypocrites can find no sins in Islam, but they can find no virtue in Christianity.

And for that, we can thank the scourge of political correctness, a loathsome and diabolical disease which could have only become pandemic in a country like the United States.

Christianity instilled America with a moral component, creating a vast sense of goodwill in our citizens, a quality which was viciously exploited to accept the fraud and deceit of political correctness, ideas which are now being used to ultimately destroy that very same Christianity we used to hold so dear.

Political correctness poisons the soul, dulls the mind, and weakens the backbone.

Those who become infected with this disease become so weak they will swallow almost anything. This disease also manifests itself by causing these individuals to become too ignorant to recognize the truths right in front of them and too gutless to draw any differences between matters of right and wrong.

And I fear we are now approaching the third generation of Americans who have been infected with this disease, which can only be cured by a restoration of truth and the reestablishment of America’s Christian heritage.
