BIG HOOTERS BIG HEART: Hooters Waitress Donates Kidney To Regular Customer

This Hooters waitress was inspired to donate her kidney to a regular customer who was experiencing kidney failure. After her grandmother experienced the same problem, she felt inspired to help in any way that she could.

A Hooters waitress and a longtime regular customer who she donated a kidney to are out of surgery and doctors say the operation was a success.

Mariana Villarreal, who works at a Hooters in Roswell, Georgia, shared in a post on social media that the kidney was a perfect match following the surgery.

She donated one of her kidneys to Don Thomas after he lost both of his to cancer. He has been a regular at the restaurant for more than 10 years, she said.

On Friday they underwent surgery and are expected to recover, WXIA-TV reported.

‘Thank you all so much for the kind words! It means a lot to me that everyone has taken a second to comment and wish me well! The kidney is a PERFECT match and is working amazingly! As for me my kidney is working like there’s still 2 in there,’ Villarreal wrote in a post on Instagram.

‘I know God will watch over us for the rest of our lives and may the glory always be for the lord of lords! Once again thank you all!’

Thomas is a frequent patron of the Hooters, and Villarreal is an employee at the establishment, but hasn’t worked there for an extended period of time.

Villarreal and Thomas barely know each other, but the sympathetic server recently lost her grandmother to kidney failure and said she felt inspired to help the loyal customer, according to WXIA-TV.
