Let’s Compare the Fake ‘War on Women’ to These REAL Wars

There’s a war on our families, educational system, economy, values, and our freedoms…but, there’s no war on women. This concept is a contrived bunch of lies and false statements, and has nothing to do with women. American women have all the freedom they want, so exactly what are these people talking about? Instead of answering some important questions honestly and taking care of the nation’s business, in a constructive manner, this administration has come up with yet another distracting gimmick…the war on women. If you’re talking about the United States, what war? I am an American and a woman, and I see no war. We have all kinds of opportunities in this country if we’re willing to get off our rear ends and work hard to make something of our lives and create a better future for ourselves.
If you want to see a REAL war on women, check out the Muslims, where women are treated worse than animals. In the Muslim world women are second-class citizens and have few, if any, rights, according to the Quran and Sharia law. Let’s look at some of the indignities that these women are exposed to: genital mutilation to make sure that women have no sexual pleasure during their lifetime; early marriages, as early as eight or nine years of age. I would call that pedophilia; according to the Quran it’s quite permissible to beat the wife on a regular basis and even recommended by some of the mullahs and imams; if a woman is raped, she is to blame, according to Sharia law; poor or no medical care because a woman cannot be touched by a man other than her husband, even if the man is a doctor. Unfortunately there are few women doctors in Islam since women are discouraged and frequently forbidden to go to school. How can we forget the poor girl from Pakistan who was shot in the head because she wanted an education for herself and all girls? Honor killings are very common and brutal. Then there is the wearing of the burqa, which is a hideous, uncomfortable garment, hiding all of the woman’s body including her face. These are just a few items to mention regarding the plight of the Muslim woman.
So where are all the lefty do-gooder women’s rights advocates? Where is the outcry? Not a word has been heard from them. Let’s get this war on women topic in the proper perspective. Where are all the feminists? The dictionary describes a feminist as someone who advocates social, political, legal, and economic rights for women, equal to those for men. That was the original goal of the National Organization for Women, or NOW, when it was founded on June 30th, 1966. This was the group that would fight to alleviate abuse and misery that some women endured. For awhile, NOW did fight for women, so what is the status of these warriors for women today? Very disappointing and unfortunately many of the feminists have morphed into a bunch of extreme left-leaning vicious women, who have forgotten their original mission. Recently they have done little to really help women because they are so involved in pushing the political agenda of the far left, that they are absolutely useless as an objective group. They are into selective political correctness, or PC, and are definitely not inclusive.
Instead of addressing important issues for women, they tend to support the frivolous ones, such as whether Sandra Fluke, the crybaby, should have the government pay for her contraceptives while she attended a $60 thousand dollar a year law school. They have allowed the looney lefties to take over. What they should be doing is working to stop domestic abuse, speaking out against female genital mutilation (FGM), helping single mothers to survive in this economy, helping disadvantaged women to get out of the poverty dilemma with programs and education, condemning sexual harassment and assault in the civilian workplace as well as the military, speaking out against politicians from both parties with sexist views who thwart women from achieving and promoting and supporting women with guts who speak out for the betterment of women, regardless of what party they are from.
Where is the National Organization for Women, and where are all the feminists in all of this? They no longer fight for the rights of women. Instead, they have become the useful idiots spouting the toxic verbiage of the socialist Obama administration. They do nothing for the average American woman, but spend a lot of their time denigrating conservative women. Shame on all of you who choose to bow to the destructive ideology of this bunch in Washington. That’s where the war is, not on women. sfa1932@att.net
