Headlines have boasted that “George Clooney & Amal Clooney are the ultimate Global Citizen couple.”
It should come as no surprise that they are sometimes at odds with people who get revved up by the #MAGA message.
Trump had criticized the fact that Europe — including Paris — are now facing a growing problem with terrorism.
He cited specific examples to make his point, “Take a look at what’s happened in France. Take a look at Nice and Paris…”
Clooney and others attending an award show in Paris took that opportunity to mock Trump as beeing foolish.
George Clooney used the red carpet to speak up for Paris as he headed into the awards ceremony for this year’s Cesar, the French version of the Oscar, where he received a “Cesar d’honneur” for his work.
“Yes, no one wants to go to Paris anymore because it’s horrible here, apparently,” he said as he entered the theater. “We have some things to work on in the United States,” he said, without ever naming Trump. When the ‘peasants’ share concern for their safety … asking for border security and ‘extreme vetting’… Hollywood A-listers mock their concern and dismiss them as racist.
But when it’s HIS kids… suddenly he can’t build walls tall enough.
So he understands the PRINCIPLE of having protection from threats.
But he thinks only millionaires in Mansions should get such protection. The ordinary Joe in an apartment building, or a blue-collar neighborhood? He shouldn’t ask for protection because walls and immigration laws are ‘mean’.
Says the guy who chose not to live in the UK, where we’ve had three major attacks since January. Not everyone is in a position that lets them CHOOSE to pick up and leave if they think their own neighborhood sucks.
