Calls For Violence And Death Threatens Peaceful Civil Disagreement

I was startled by the venomous attacks launched against President Bush beginning in 2000. President Reagan was attacked, but not so aggressively and viciously as those assaulting President Bush.

Obama deserved much criticism, and it generally took the tone of issue-oriented debate, only fringe types engaging vile slander, accomplishing nothing but fueling charges of racism.

Today, widespread fury directed at President Trump has little to do with him but much to do with how low this society has descended, at least in certain quarters. Energetic disagreement is one thing. Wishing torture and death on another is more than criminal, it is flat out evil, demonic.

Celebrating death when it occurs: evidence of the depth of evil operating in the world today. The Left is now perfectly comfortable with engaging violence and death, even calling it necessary. The barbarians have rekindled an age of darkness, calling hatred good, and goodness, evil, fulfilling prophesy.

I have told you these things so that you will not fall away. They will put you out of the synagogues. In fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God. They will do these things because they have not known the Father or Me.
