Why Obama Skipped The Knesset
President Obama had quite an agenda for his visit to the Jewish State. But one of the places he skipped is the Israeli Parliament, known as the Knesset.
Why, pray tell, would he do that?
Well, he decided to speak to an audience of young people instead of the duly elected representatives of the Israeli people (perhaps he took a look at his low approval ratings among Israelis).
There are several reasons why, in my opinion, he chose this audience…
— The young are idealists, inexperienced in the realities of life and the easiest to fool.
— The exploitation of youth by Communist/Marxists (like Saul Alinsky’s ilk) have always been a major challenge to the free world.
— The gullibility of the young, concerning facts, is too great a temptation for “Progressives” NOT to utilize.
— They applaud every few seconds…
He took full advantage of his opportunity to speak to the youth in Israel. His speech was rife with the same old platitudes:
“All of us have an interest in resolving this issue peacefully. Strong and principled diplomacy is the best way to ensure that the Iranian government forsakes nuclear weapons.”
Clearly counting on the youthful audience’s naiveté concerning Islamic tyrannical regimes.
And then his melodrama of the “plight” of a “Palestinian” child under Israeli “occupation’” … carefully leaving out the reasons for the restrictions that are implemented upon PA-run areas (can anyone say interminable attempts of terrorism upon innocent Jews).
“Put yourself in their shoes — look at the world through their eyes. It is not fair that a Palestinian child cannot grow up in a state of her own, and lives with the presence of a foreign army that controls the movements of her parents every single day. It is not just when settler violence against Palestinians goes unpunished. It is not right to prevent Palestinians from farming their lands; to restrict a student’s ability to move around the West Bank; or to displace Palestinian families from their home. Neither occupation nor expulsion is the answer. Just as Israelis built a state in their homeland, Palestinians have a right to be a free people in their own land.”
And then, of course, Obama’s pathetic attempt to create another Occupy movement among Jewish youth:
“Speaking as a politician, I can promise you this: political leaders will not take risks if the people do not demand that they do. You must create the change that you want to see.”
And, to top his conference off … He followed the oration with a Q & A.
Because, remember: It’s so much easier to answer the questions of idealistic youth, than the adult, challenging inquiries of those who know more than you do.
Shalom through strength…
