Obama Scandals: The Tinfoil Hat Brigade Were Right?

Now this administration has made a habit out of stretching the limits of their authority in order to spy on both its media and its citizens. Where does the line get drawn?

The Obama Administration has admitted to the court order, now that it was brought out by the UK news outlet, and has stated that it is part of an ongoing effort to protect Americans from terrorism. Unfortunately, this just doesn’t hold any water because they aren’t aiming this effort at terrorists; they are aiming it at you and me.

In July of last year, and as recently as March of this year, both the head of the NSA and the Director of National Intelligence stated that the NSA doesn’t spy on its own citizens nor does it hold data on Americans. However, we now know this is categorically false. It is also being speculated, and possibly confirmed, that this was much larger than just Verizon and that the scope of this could be massive and over many large carriers. It is also being rumored now that this operation could have been going on for as long as the past seven years.

I have to admit that I kind of feel bad for making fun of these fringe folks who wear the tinfoil hats. I used to trust that my government, while not perfect, had my best interest at heart. While I’m not ready to indict the whole government as evil, actually I believe this is a leadership issue and a result of an egomaniac president and attorney general who believe they can do whatever they want.

I am however making up tinfoil hats if anyone is interested.
