Weiner, Spitzer and Davis … “Public Service” Has a Whole New Meaning

Spitzer’s bid is not going unchallenged. Kirsten Davis is running against him. Davis’s credentials are as good as Spitzer’s; better, in fact. Ms. Davis was a highly successful madam; the very madam that supplied Spitzer with call girls. Madams are notorious for keeping a watchful eye on their inventory and cash flow. Spitzer’s experience with money, on the other hand, comes from spending it. Kirstin served three months jail time for the privilege of “serving” Spitzer. Her stay at Rikers Island only whetted her appetite for government office: “I’ve been waiting for my day to face (Spitzer) for five years … I sat … in Rikers Island, I came out penniless and nothing happened to him. The hypocrisy there is huge.”

She is absolutely correct. Spitzer was never charged. Welcome to the world of politics, Ms. Davis. Your previous career was pure by comparison.

These hopefuls for New York government office sum up the insanity in their own words. Weiner, speaking to CNN said: “”I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.” Conveniently, if that statement resonates, there are several bridges in NYC for sale as well. Kirstin Davis, dignified and eloquent opined that “This is going to be the funnest campaign ever…” But Spitzer had the money quote: “I love public service. I believe in it.”

The New York races are a perfect microcosm of the political world the rest of us are mired in, these days. Venal degenerates are the popular choice. They offer the kind of “public service” nobody should be exposed to.
