PC Pummelling of Eagles’ Riley Cooper — Enough Already!

Making matters worse, the “off with his head” cries are surfacing with alarming frequency … mostly demanding his discharge from the Eagles employment as a just punishment. This political- correctness/zero tolerance policy is not only extreme and unethical, it is disingenuous and hypocritical.
How many of these PC zealots would want mercy if caught in a similar situation, yet they demand “justice” for the same infractions by others. They assume to know that Riley is only repentant because he got caught, not because of genuine contrition. Well, my PC friends, “Methinks thou dost protest too much.”
The Lord Christ Jesus encountered similar sentiments in the Gospel account of angry and “offended” self-righteous men demanding that a woman caught in the act of adultery be stoned to death (Please note that there is no mention of the other adulterous party … possibly one of their own?). The Lord wrote something in the sand, and He then stated, “Whichever one of you is without sin, let him cast the first stone.” Holy Writ then declared that all walked away, beginning with the oldest man first. “For all have sinned…”
My appeal is to give people the “benefit of the doubt,” as you would want to receive if in the same situation. Temper justice with mercy, as “there, but for the Grace of God, go we.” Give people a second chance. Remember the Golden Rule …”As you would have someone do unto you, do you even so unto them.”
