Summer Slam?! Putin’s Russians and Chi-Coms vs. Obama

Written by Steve Bowers on August 19, 2013

But, back to Snowden and Obama’s ham-fisted handling of the Putin cancellation.  Snowden’s true crime seems to be he ratted out the Administration’s criminal utilization of the bullying bureaucracies of the IRS, et al, to harm the Tea Party and similar straw-man baddies. Personally, I would like to shake Snowden’s hand. Maybe what he did violated law, but his is definitely a case where the good he did must be weighed against the wrong he did (which are words, just the typing of which, would normally set my teeth on edge).

How has Snowden hurt Americans? What good has he done for us? Only Obama and the DOJ seem upset by his actions. And considering the administration’s perfidious actions and behavior, doesn’t that, presumptively, put him in line for some sort of medal.

For some reason this whole affair makes me yearn for the Cold War days of yore. Probably because, back then, we never doubted our (sometimes inept) leaders’ loyalty to our Country. Big distinction.

Note:: You do remember, I hope, all those American techies and bureaucrats who defected during the Cold War days? We were always reading horrible news accounts about our fellow Americans who were shot by American soldiers while climbing over to the east side of the Berlin Wall (which Eisenhower or Kennedy built one night). Or Americans rowing flimsy boats from Miami to Havana, through shark-infested waters.  Harrowing stuff.

Steve Bowers grew up on a farm in Indiana, attended Indiana University and went into the construction business. While working on a construction project at a law school he was appalled at how lawyers could screw stuff up on a simple building project. Thinking he could do better, Steve went to law school. He’s pretty naive.
