Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People?

Today I read an article that I found completely heart shattering. Two young brothers, Noah and Connor Barthe, 5 and 7 years old respectively were killed in their sleep by a 100 pound python. Two innocent young boys that didn’t do anything to warrant such a horrific death are simply just gone. Gone forever. When one hears about something like this you can’t help but ask yourself, “Why does God allow two innocent young boys to get killed this way?” Not only where they killed, to make matters even worst they were killed by an animal that‘s biblically symbolic of evil!

Any person that has ever sat through a Sunday bible class knows the story of Adam and Eve, and knowing this you know how the devil appeared to them! In the form of a snake! That being said, how does God allow these two young boys to be killed? Killed by a snake of all things? Can you imagine the level of spiritual commitment a father, a mother, or another sibling must have in order to get past something like this while keeping their faith in tact? Our hearts are definitely with their families.

This brings us back to the question, “why do bad things happen to good people?” Truth be told, I can’t answer this question. I haven’t met a person yet that can properly answer this question. I simply don’t know what the answer is. When I was younger I was told that God sometimes needed people back in heaven and this was why they were taken. Now that I am an older man, I still ask myself this question, yet I am still no closer to finding an answer than I ever was as a child.
What do you think? Why do bad things happen to good people?
