Obamacare Disaster: Lies or Incompetence? Obama’s Responsible

Did you know that I was the smartest guy in the world? It’s true.

Well, that’s a lie.

Actually, I’m probably not. I mean, with all the smart people in the world, what are the chances that I am smarter than all of THEM? But, here’s the thing. Since we’re all unique individuals, all with our own set of experiences and talents, maybe I am, in the narrowest sense of the term, the smartest guy in the world. After all, no one but ME knows exactly what “I” know, so maybe I am, in the narrowest sense of the term, the smartest guy in the world.

And maybe that’s what was going through Barrack Obama’s mind when he said, “If you like your healthcare plan, you can KEEP your healthcare plan … period.” He didn’t believe that he had to qualify his statement, because in his mind, he knew what he meant, and after all … he IS the President of the United States, and YOU’RE not. He knows what the “end-goal” is, and you (probably) don’t. Therefore, in that way, he is just guiding you to a better life-choice, even though you’re not actually allowed, in millions of cases, to MAKE that choice about your own healthcare policy, or lack thereof.

Confusing?

Well, maybe just a little. So, let’s look at the definition of a lie and see if we can clear this thing up a bit.
To find the definition of a lie, you must first consider the question: “What is truth?” In a recent article on lying, Keith Rothra said the following: “Webster tells us that truth is ‘the state of being the case.’ ” Other subsequent definitions are equally vague. Is truth vague? Theologically speaking, “truth” is “that which is unchangeable,” such as God is never-changing.

Rotha goes on to say, “Perhaps, instead of going in the ancient search for truth, we need to determine what is NOT truth. What is a lie? Once again, I go to Webster: a Lie is 1: to make an untrue statement with intent to deceive … or 2: to create a false or misleading impression.”

Ahhhhh, “A false or misleading impression.” NOW we’re getting somewhere. Forget, for the moment, what is meant by the world “false,” and lets talk about the “misleading impression.”

A misleading impression is akin to a misrepresentation. And THAT brings us to the question of “LYING BY OMISSION.” Ask.com says that, “A lie of omission is one where one lies by omitting an important fact, deliberately leaving another person with a misconception. Lying by omission includes failures to correct pre-existing misconceptions. An example is when the seller of a car declares it has been serviced regularly but does not tell that a fault was reported at the last service.”

So, we can now say that a lie is the result of omitting an important fact. But the next question is, was it the “intent” of the President to omit “an important fact,” in this case that everyone would be able to keep their health insurance policies.

So, what IS “intent?”

Again, Webster says that intent is: 1a: the act or fact of intending: purpose; especially: the design or purpose to commit a wrongful or criminal act
b: the state of mind with which an act is done: volition
2: a usually clearly formulated or planned intention : aim

Oh boy, now I’m confused . . . again.

OK, if Obama KNEW that millions of healthcare policies would likely be canceled as a result of implementing Obamacare, he obviously lied to Americans – over and over again. On the other hand, if he actually did not know, then we cannot say that he lied.

So is Obama off the hook? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Whether or not Barrack Obama knew or did not know that millions of Americans would lose their private health insurance policies (wink wink) is academic.

Common sense tell us that he SHOULD have known, for cripes sakes!

Of course, he should have known. And as more information comes out in the days and weeks ahead, it seems clear that the evidence will show that he DID know, and that the Obama “political” types won out over the Obama “policy” types in the White House.

In the meantime, let’s not forget that even though he might believe that he IS the smartest guy in the world, the truth, the REAL truth, is beginning to emerge that Barrack Obama is also one of the biggest liars to have ever been elected to national office.

In the broadest sense of the term, time will tell.
