Oprah was on the BBC last week playing the race card just as a majority of Americans were finally waking up to the realization that President Obama lied. She was shamelessly promoting her new movie and accusing Americans of racism. In Oprah’s world, if you disagree with Obama, then you are a racist. This is coming from a woman who got rich from an audience of primarily white women, a majority of whom voted for Obama twice. These supposedly racist people twice elected a black President who has brought the U.S. to the brink of economic collapse.
She reached back into recent history to validate her claim by referring to an incident that occurred during Obama’s 2009 address to a joint session of Congress. Obama was promoting the new healthcare law which was still being debated. Obama denied opposition claims that illegal aliens would be eligible for subsidized health care. Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) couldn’t take any more of Obama’s baloney. He blurted out, “You lie.” Such a departure from decorum was apparently inexcusable, as poor Joe was later reprimanded by the House of Representatives and even excoriated by his own party members.
I was watching the speech at home and shouted, “Amen,” thinking to myself, “Finally, a Republican with the guts to stand up to this Marxist imitator.” I prefer the robust debate that takes place in the British Parliament to the polite pabulum that comes out of Congress. There, at least people are called out for their lies. It’s not unusual to hear some MP insult the Prime Minister for perpetrating a fish tale. Once the debate is public, there is a burden of proof placed upon the parties involved and the press. This is unlike what we have here in polite America where politicians frequently lie with impunity and the press just gives them a pass.
Has the press followed up on Joe’s claim? Well, not so much, especially if you only tune into the major networks. Fox News columnist Andrew Napolitano wrote shortly afterward that based upon court decisions, “There is no question that under the present law, Congress simply cannot pick and choose which ‘persons’ to whom it will afford social benefits and to which ‘persons’ it will not.” Since that time it has been reported that, in accordance with the ACA, the Obama administration has issued grants to community health centers that will not be checking for citizenship status. It seems that Joe was correct.
And we now know that Obama has a history of lying, especially in regard to Obamacare. But, in Oprah’s world Joe is a racist. In Oprah’s world, no one is allowed to criticize Obama. According to Oprah, black folks should not be held accountable. She has a history of cozying up to race baiters and hustlers like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.
No, Oprah, you are the racist. Thousands of white Americans died to end slavery. Only a small percentage owned slaves. Thousands of white Americans marched with Martin Luther King and worked to advance civil rights. Republicans have worked to advance every major piece of civil rights legislation. But, we will not give up the right to oppose this lying socialist Obama who has an agenda to destroy America rooted in his own hatred.
